4 killed in Bronx train derailment
Four people are dead and dozens are injured after a New York passenger train derailed in the Bronx Sunday morning.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the deaths at the derailment scene Sunday morning. He said 63 others, including the train operator, have been taken to hospital. "It's obviously a very tragic situation. The first order of business is to care for the people who were on the train," Cuomo told reporters at the scene. He said the National Transportation Safety Board is on its way to the scene of the derailment and will be conducting a "thorough investigation." Cuomo said 11 of the injured are in critical but stable condition and he believes everyone on the train has been accounted for.
