Bitcoin Price Could Reach $98,500, Say Wall Street Analysts

Now this is interesting specially this part
?Among other facets, we believe bitcoin and its associated technology represent a potentially game-changing disruption to our covered payments companies.?

The price of bitcoin could increase to as much as $98,500, according to analysts at financial services and investment firm Wedbush Securities.

A report from analysts Gil Luria and Aron Turner, which has been referenced on StreetInsider.com, takes an extremely positive view of bitcoin, suggesting digital currency has the potential to shake up the current payments space.

Titled Bitcoin: Intrinsic Value as Conduit for Disruptive Payment Network Technology, the report states:

?Among other facets, we believe bitcoin and its associated technology represent a potentially game-changing disruption to our covered payments companies.?

The authors go on to claim cryptocurrency provides a ?powerful alternative to branded networks? due to its decentralised processing, new functionality and use of market-based fees.

Bitcoin Boom Spreads to IPhones With Mobile-Payment Apps

scroll down to Bitcoin Economy

?That?s going to be the big game, on mobile,? Nicolas Cary, CEO of mobile Bitcoin app provider Blockchain.info, said in an interview.

The market for mobile payments is projected to be $235.4 billion in total transaction value in 2013, up 44 percent from the prior year, according to Gartner. Because Bitcoins can lower or eliminate money-transfer and other banking fees, the digital currency could potentially compete with EBay Inc. (EBAY)?s PayPal, Visa Inc., Google and others offering mobile payments.

Jennifer Hakes, a spokeswoman for PayPal, didn?t respond to a request for comment.

sounds crazy, but $1000 sounded crazy a month ago too, so who knows at this point... for all we know couple of years from now it could go to $98k and $1k could be considered "getting in early"...

It's probably a wise investment! Especially if you don't feel like risking a few grand is that big of a gamble.

anyone really think wall street is gonna sit on the sidelines & watch their industry get napstered without a fight? a lot of billions of credit card fees, law enforcement capability, & good old graft is built into the current system.

the moment BTC does become a threat to the dollar, both parties will move against it, in the guise of fighting drugs/cybercriminals etc.

please.

SlammedMedia 12-05-2013 08:22 PM

I could see it reaching higher than that. I heard stories where a lot of big-wig investors think it'll reach between $350,000-$500,000.

$1k will be considered getting in early.

MPGdevil 12-05-2013 08:27 PM

How did he come up with the $500.

Penny24Seven 12-05-2013 08:30 PM

I hear that all the time and I have read everything possible. I have been selling mine 100 at a time but I think no matter what I will keep around 30. If they reach 100K I would sell 15 and if they reach 200K all but one. I just cannot think of how hard it will be to hold them if the price were to get past 50K or 60K. By then I will have made enough not to worry but still that is like half a million bucks lol

IF bankers start diving head first into Bitcoin THEN it can start being compared to Tulip Bulb Mania because those fuckers will make sure it rises to 6 times a yearly salary or whatever stupid amount they wish. Bitcoin is perfect for them to do a massive Pump & Dump within a short space of time i.e. 1 or 2 years

Then once you hear your granny or the taxi driver talking about investing, you'll know it'll be time to exit :pimp

If you have enough capital you can manipulate anything, if someone had a ton of Bitcoins to sell and they dumped them all on the market it would keep going down as it ate it's way through the volume order book and would only stop once it ran out of buyers.

That's one of the reason why people are very skeptical of a lot of these new ALT Coins coming out, especially ones that have been pre mined because usually a couple of people own most of the coins and have the ability to manipulate the price.
