SGM_Josi 12-16-2013 12:35 PM

Good luck

robwod 12-16-2013 12:58 PM

I chuckle at those ridiculing a 1k base salary. A base salary is just a guaranteed fixed amount. With performance incentives, such as profit sharing, ambitious people could make an extremely comfortable living with the right company / product -- and they are qualified with split testing, conversion and demographic analysis, etc.

Ask any "real" salesperson if they'd want a fixed salary or one based on commissions. The truly motivated, ambitious ones will almost certainly want the commission based sales revenues as then the sky is the limit and they effectively write their own checks.

Good luck finding the right candidate.

MrDeiz 12-16-2013 01:01 PM

right, 1k is a base salary. do the stuff and you'll get cut of it

I agree, but knowing the details on those bonuses first is also kinda important to have that argument..

Absolutely. I was speaking in generalities, not specific to Mr. Deiz's offer. One would assume the candidate would negotiate the performance bonuses based on their knowledge and experience during the application process.

Scarf modelling has always been where the money's at, though. You really shouldn't compare the two.

Do you realize there are many countries in the world besides Canada wit various average salaries?
Also its base salary.

MrDeiz 12-21-2013 08:46 PM

btw missed the whole point
i'm looking for some hardcore business manager whom i'm going to teach some stuff.
you should have industry experience, connections, good name and the most important - huge portion of energy. you'll be rewarded with % of your sales
i guarantee great products you'll have to promote (fair play, no catch, real biz) with non-aggressive marketing

bean-aid 12-21-2013 08:55 PM

Non-aggressive marketing is considered by many to be bad marketing. My advice, pay the guy/girl more. Bit the bullet and offer at least $15/hr with bonus potential. Then you may at least find someone with ability to create the bonuses.

Pornopat 12-21-2013 11:28 PM

Your business manager will not be able to make a good impression on industry events.
With hotel prices I can see the guy sneaking in his own sandwiches to prevent the costs of the hotel breakfast and more of that kind of stuff.
It will be better to keep the guy working from home.

HBKKH 12-22-2013 09:18 AM

With that base salary your best bet is to look in Philippines if english speaking what you are after.

Va2k 12-22-2013 09:27 AM

Wow this would be great for someone wanting to grow with a company, I myself would do this in a heart beat if I wasn't where I am now! good luck, I have always liked this guy and his company.

1000 isn't shit to an industry insider with experience is the point here. That person makes that as a base a week. Then add their bonus.

It's less than minimum wage in most states. I know there is a federal minimum but many states set the standard higher. Benefits would make it more appealing to some people but I see no mention of it.

and No, I'm not applying, just observing.

As the saying goes--- "You get what you pay for".... If the day ever came that I was making 12,000 a year base pay, I would like one of you to shoot me. (I know I have enough haters out there, that; there would be a line of people tripping over themselves for this privilege. lol)
