Ufc 168 wow!

Anderson Silva's leg snapped in half like a toothpick...
REALLY painful to see!

In other news, Ronda Rousey and her sweet ass won....

In the second round, Silva threw a leg kick. Weidman checked the kick, and Silva immediately fell to the canvas ? with his leg badly broken in one of the most gruesome injuries in mixed martial arts history.
:warning WARNING: Don't watch if you're squeamish: :warning

A Theismann moment! :helpme :Oh crap

Doubt that Silva will fight again... :(

Ronda is the better fighter, but Miesha Tate definitely has the sweeter ass:thumbsup

Brutal finish. Weidman will get crap that it was a lucky win but its something he trained for after the last fight. I hope thats not the end of the spider but if it is at least its a highlight finish!

Ohh, that really hurts!

Jim_Gunn 12-29-2013 12:51 AM

Poor Anderson, that was brutal. And probably a tragic end to Silva's illustrious career. That being said, I killed it betting on Weidman tonight at underdog odds even though I am a Silva fan.

I was hoping Rousey would lose because I am sick of hearing about that shemale.

I think a lot of people will say Weidman got a lucky shot when Silva was messing around in the first fight and now the leg break so he isn't "really" the champ. But he beat Silva in round 1 of this fight. Still, until he defends the belt and wins in a way that isn't odd the criticism will follow him.

Crazy!!

Leg Check!!

If that kick wasn't checked, it could have done serious damage to the intended targeted area.

Ouch!! SUX!!

dillonaire 12-29-2013 01:35 PM

Never skip leg day bro!

:winkwink:

Dirty D 12-29-2013 02:06 PM

Awesome fights....

Anderson's career is over.
That leg won't ever be able to get kicked again...

Relentless 12-29-2013 02:14 PM

Silva's leg did not break itself. Weidman properly checked the kick and broke his leg after winning the first round and their prior fight decisively. Weidman may not be the all time fighter Silva is (yet) but anyone who thinks he got 'lucky' is simply wrong.

PornDiscounts-V 12-29-2013 02:31 PM

Corey Hill had the exact same injury in a UFC fight back in December of 2008 and was able to rehab and fight again a year later in January 2010. Hill was around 30 at the time so he was younger than Anderson Silva is now. It wouldn't be impossible for Silva to comeback from this injury, but at 38 years old it would be a LONG road back...

Hill also had a lot more to prove and many more bills to pay than Silva has now... :2 cents:

jódete 12-29-2013 03:38 PM

So fn what. his 38 year old ass was rocked in the 1st., only a matter of time. jus like a baseball player throwing a 98 mph fastball an the batter bangs it outta the park . silva threw a fast ass inside leg kick and paid the ultimate price. can i tell ya something, he wont throw that kick again, EVER !!!

lucas131 12-29-2013 03:42 PM

he can try now wfc, wheelchair fight champ

He shouldn't get any crap at all, if people watched the fight. He knocked Silva out in the first round. It was obvious from that point on Silva was done.

People like you on GFY, always make me wonder why you put your name after your message, I find it so oddly bizarre. We know who you are, your name's right beside your message.

:2 cents:

It's a shame the fight ended the way it did, it would have been nice for Weidman if he had the opportunity to end the fight with a knockout or submission to silence the doubters

That break was brutal! :Oh crap

Spunky 12-29-2013 11:53 PM

He was a good fighter until the show boating, looks like it caught up to him.being his age,it will take a long time to recover.I can't see Silva going on

Mr. Hugo 12-30-2013 01:18 AM

i won a nice chunk of change giving a guy 5 to 1 odds that silva wouldn't win the fight in the first round :)

John-ACWM 12-30-2013 01:46 AM

Looks damn painful. Indeed a sad way to end a match, but things like that happen in a sport like that.

He did end the fight with a knockout.

How is breaking Silva's leg bone by defending a kick any less worthy a victory than breaking his orbital bone with a left hook?
Again,Silva's leg did not break itself. Defense matters.

Of coarse defence matters and it was clearly something Weidman had worked on for this fight

I'm just saying the doubters where claiming before the fight that Weidman got lucky in the first fight and those same doubters will be claiming Silva was unlucky with the leg break.

Another round or two of Weidman dominating Silva followed by a submission or a knocked out and the remaining doubters would have had to shut their mouths for good. Silva was lucky the fight wasn't stopped in the first round anyway as SlammedMedia mentioned.

I think it'll go down as the leg check that ended Anderson Silva's career

CIVMatt 12-30-2013 11:35 AM

I'm happy to see the Tate chants. Ronda Rousey might be hardcore but after her display on UF I'll never be a fan of hers. Her personality is shit and regardless of how many Maxim covers you put her on you can't escape how ugly her behavior is.

If Weidman reached his left hand into Silva's chest cavity, pulled his heart out and started eating it in the center the of the octagon during Round 2, those same people would have said it was a fluke victory and Silva just had unlucky ribs that day.

DirtyDanza 12-30-2013 12:43 PM

my buddy who was ringside ... well better yet he was in the cage.. works for the comish.. the red jacket guys.. he told me Silva was rubbing his leg in between rounds and complaining about it... possible he hairline fracture and just finished the job .... the kick that broke it was not one of silva's hardest kicks... but he did forget to open his hips... thats what happens you will break if you don't open...

Bas Rutten made a video on the 21st of dec talking about it...
https://youtube.com/watch?v=iFsGDlldNTc

then anderson did not open and bam.. I dunno... was it broke in 1st round ? was it technical error on silva? never know.... silva was losing bad ... but this is not a way to lose.. silva would rather be KO.. anyone would.... my friend said Anderson's screams in the ring gave him chills....

Injury is always part of the game ... but it sucks to see.... Hope he heals quick....

laubaq 12-30-2013 01:10 PM

too bad for silva.

Gator 12-30-2013 06:31 PM

That was a tough break (ha) for Silva. I am sure he could come back if he wanted to. I don't know why he would want to though.

As far as Rousey, UFC probably made her more arrogant by kissing her hiney so much.

em_wister 12-30-2013 07:27 PM

That was a bad break for Silva.. He'll be back..

HuHy 12-31-2013 02:48 AM

No one can come back from a career ending injury like that. Even if he does manage to heal, he's not going to be the same fighter that he was though.

Rousey comes off to me like one of those people who takes any little thing you say against them as a slight, spin it around in their head and use it a fuel against their opponent.

Michael Jordan was famous for that (not putting her on that level, just making the example). If any opponent said anything negative about Jordan he used it as hate to fuel the fire of his desire to beat them.

CherryFuzz 12-31-2013 07:47 AM

Guess he's called "The crippled spider" Anderson Silva now?

DPhil 12-31-2013 08:01 AM

Can he have a comeback? Is 1 year enough to heal that injury?
