Do you use Ad block?

I've used it for a number of years, but recently, I've decided that if I want to keep up with the competition and see what's new in the world of advertisements, it would be best to turn them on for pretty much every site.

It hasn't bothered me too much yet, but I'm sure one site will come along soon and really get on my nerves. :thumbsup

adultchatpay 01-27-2014 04:01 AM

Yes i do, but i disable it on GFY page.

just a punk 01-27-2014 05:31 AM

Sure thing!

topsiteking 01-28-2014 11:41 AM

Almost split.

JD 01-28-2014 12:39 PM

Chrome runs 10x better with it and Ghostery turned off but it's on the majority of the time.

mineistaken 01-28-2014 12:45 PM

Yes, but started only recently because one site I frequent became hardcore with adds..

HomerSimpson 01-28-2014 12:55 PM

I use AdBlockPlus but it doesn't filter all ads... I should install something else but don't have time to deal with that...

Zeiss 01-28-2014 12:55 PM

I use it only to test, what I can do with those, who use it. Did not answer poll.

DutchTrafficService 01-28-2014 01:22 PM

Ofc, still people who don't use it? :)

Try using other filtering list.

I dont use popunders at the moment, they fucking up clicking productivity toomuch, tho i have code which opens on clicking, not on loading, and it bypass both firefox and adblock.Need to try it and see how it will work then.

Tittytweaker 01-28-2014 02:55 PM

I use it, but tend to turn it off on sites I want to support, and those which have unobtrusive ads.

That sounds funny, like enabling ads would immediatly send money to site owners lol.If i want to support some site then i simply donate.

pornmasta 01-28-2014 05:01 PM

I should perhaps install it, something my computer freeze up to 30 seconds just to load some crappy ad.

lonerunner 01-28-2014 05:53 PM

yes on firefox, no on chrome, i regularly use both, firefox for development and testing, chrome for surfing. Why i started using adblock is because some sites are really pusshing with popups and ads.

DBS.US 01-28-2014 06:01 PM

yep, I do:winkwink:

myleene 01-28-2014 07:56 PM

No. And I'll never use any such tools.

It's an ad that made me aware of this cutie:

I saw two of her shows live and I have all her albums.

I would go to any of her upcoming shows if she comes back.

Ads did bring me other good things.

brassmonkey 01-28-2014 08:02 PM

ad block plus and no script

Barry-xlovecam 01-28-2014 09:26 PM

A very telling poll.

What is important is do web surfers use it? 15% to 25% is what I am reading.

I use Ghostery on one browser on one computer.
I can always allow the ads if I want to see what's up on a website.
I am more bothered about ad tracking.
You can only keep your head in the sand and stand on principles so long -- ask the buggy whip manufacturers.
Also, I test if my latest methods of getting our ads out there out-runs and evades ad blocking programs -- the sword cuts both ways ;)

ErectMedia 01-28-2014 09:56 PM

Nope :2 cents:

ludballs 01-29-2014 07:41 AM

I do :winkwink:

The best way is to insert ads right into the video player. These ads can be triggered by various evens such as:
  • Pre-roll advertising (HTML / video / image) with limitable duration and customizable click URL.
  • Post-roll advertising (HTML / video / image) with limitable duration and customizable click URL.
  • On-pause advertising (HTML / image) with customizable click URL.
  • On-stop advertising (HTML / image) with customizable click URL.
  • Customizable click URL for the video display area.
  • Advertising image on player mouse over.
Watch the example here: http://www.cyberseo.net/kvs-player-pro/ :pimp

These ads are not so annoying as popunders and more affective. Furthermore, they work in on all browsers, they work on desktop PC's and mobile devices, and they can not be blocked :2 cents:

tube surfers are used to popunders, all the best ones have them.. but you knew that already being that you sell scripts for them right?

Same people in here that wonder about why their conversions are falling are blocking ads. Coincidence?

mineistaken 01-29-2014 12:27 PM

All my banners on all my sites are visible even if adblock is on. So I do not have that sentiment of some of you, like "why would you do that, imagine if surfers turn it off".

Only those that use excessive banners suffer. If you hardcore your banners in a regular way - they still show up for adblock users. So wthat's the problem?

Problem is not adblock, problem is excessive webmastrs that want to push shit in surfers' faces.

Just 2 cents

i got no ad, a grey box with nothing more then a "click here to close" link.

whitet 02-15-2014 12:57 PM

yes, (actually noscript +ghostery)
and no on gfy

Tdash 02-15-2014 04:07 PM

Of course I use adblock.

Creatine 02-15-2014 04:38 PM

I keep disable it for websites with no annoying ads. For example reddit and tumblr. But I enable it for facebook as those ads are a pain in the ass.
