I surely hope you are not going for DBA job ;)

if you have no knowledge of E F Codds 12 rules for a relational database and no understanding of relational databases on a fundamental level you cant learn it in a week or even two.

If all you want to do is query an existing database for a specific data set yer prolly better off posting the relations and what you want from them here and let someone give you the sql query

you are about to rip someone off, you aren't going to become a competent DBA in a week... the value of a real DBA (as is with most professions) is not learning some stuff in a week, but it's knowing what to look out for, knowing what to do when shit breaks, etc... and that only comes from experience...

it's pretty twisted that you are applying for a job which you are completely not qualified for, it's pretty much fraud, you might as well rob old ladies in the mall...

but hey, good luck, I can totally see db crashing in a week, and you posting a thread on here "db crashed, help!"...

You can learn enough to wing it... Learn the basic datatypes, and the basic queries.. ie select, update, insert and delete... basic where clauses, and joins. You'll pick up the rest when you need it.

Get MySQL for Dummies. Those books are absolutely the best for a quick learning synopsis. Back in 1992 I got a job as a server admin. Didn't have a clue about servers. Got a Dummies book and Bob's your uncle.
