Godaddy

I know that advertise on usa tv.

But this week I noticed them advertise in the UK on tv.

The thing is, I would have thought only web masters would buy domain names.

I do not understand why they advertise on tv. Its not like baked beans were everyone buys them.

Or am i missing something?

Also how come Godaddy is soooo big?

Is there realy a huge amount to be made selling domain names?

"Go Daddy filed for an IPO in 2006 and later canceled it due to "market uncertainties", but is preparing for IPO as of March, 2014"

They sell more than just domains.

All those upsells are geared towards dot com dreamers without any skills and offline businesses that don't want to pay a local web design firm $2,000 for a simple website.

they are trying to make website making easier for general public.
thats why rthey have created something called one click site creator ....

so anyone , can create a website for their personal/small business ...

Yep they pretty much make a lot of their money off mom and pop. Someone who has a home business, or just want s to see their name dot com on the web. GD does mega hosting of these sites.

i just noticed it was on, i think before football or something.

I find it odd they promote via sport as I would have thought those who watch sport would have very little interest in domain names.

As a sport watching regular domain name purchaser, I am deeply offended by your insensitive remark. Please keep your poisonous bigotry laden opinions to yourself you pikey twat.

I have 500+ domains with them but pretty sure they prefer end user customer that is clueless and will buy domains without discounts, hosting, web site builder, etc... more margins over domainer that gets discounts and only buys domains there.

Aftermarket=Yes New registrations not so much so since their prices are low you get bombarded with upsells that have higher margins.
