Just wondering : Why do GFY hate Micahel Bay's Pearl Harbor so much? Is it because you hate Kate Beckinsale?

4. the script was horrendously bad.

Never seen the movie but Kate Beckinsale is a fucking whore.

I like that movie. But then again I like anything WW2-ish. I went to see Walking With The Enemy this weekend.

All of his movies effing suck

Horrible. The only thing worse would be Bay and Ryan Reynolds...

I like Michael Bay movies (Favourite : The Island. Least favourite: Transformers 2), and I can take or leave Aflleck. But what was wrong with the script? Sure it was lots of romantic mush but I kinda sorta bought it. Maybe its because Beckensale is beautiful but the love story worked for me.



My mom, Roberta, died May 10th 2013, at 90 years old. She had a cancer that started in her ear and moved to erode a part of her skull and parts of her ribs. She also suffered from Alzheimer's. As if all of this wasn't enough, she fell while she was in the hospital and broke her pelvis. The anniversary of her death is in 5 days.

Bay wouldn't know a bad script even if he read it before shooting started. He's a "we'll fix it in post" kinda guy.

I did not mind it, beyond the normal historical inaccuracies that many people assume are true. That, to me personally, is the most annoying when people cite a movie and things from it as historically accurate and never bother to do additional research on the subject. But I digress....

Was it over the top at times? Sure. I can't say I disliked the movie because of Affleck or Beckinsale, they did fine as far as I was concerned in the movie. I could have used a lot less love story, but for me personally, that could go for almost any good movie.

A good example of this would be 'Heat'. You could have cut that movie from 4 hours down to 2.5 without that Paccino/DeNire love story nonsense. However, there are plenty of movies like that with the love story crap taking away from a good flick.

I don't really know much about that event so I have no idea how accurate it is... but then again maybe I don't care... I don't think it's trying to make a point one way or another, instead it just tells a tale.

I liked Heat - it was a little long but still good. I found it sort of Tarantino-esq, not sure why.

once again i went through all movies he directed and once again i came to the conclusion that all of them suck

just the fight scenes of Pearl Harbour are kind of worthwhile
