William Wesson (Southern Charms) Successfully Destroys My 20,000+ Follower Tumblr Account
Over the last couple years I've periodically received email from Tumblr saying that William Wesson (Southern Charms) had filled copyright infringement against me for blogging or reblogging photos from various amateur Southern Charms models. I never thought much of it because these girls have always sent me their content to promote though I never actually responded to any of these copyright emails. This morning I get a similar email from tumblr only this time it also says "this is the final warning before Tumblr account termination" !!! WTF? I would say that I received about 10 copyright infringement notices over 2+ years and all of them from William Wesson. Unreal.
For those of you unfamiliar with Southern Charms it is an amateur network where women can get their own generic looking paysite and in turn they populate the site with regular updates. Many of these woman are bbw, chubby or fat which has been a niche that I have good command over so I constantly get email from these Southern Charms girls wanting me to promote them on my blogs, twitter, tumblr etc. As for my Tumblr account it has organically grown to 20,000+ loyal followers. Most every photo that I post gets 80-100+ reblogs. The blog has a PR2 and I hope not to loose it. FUCK :mad: Mr. Wesson if you are reading lets come to terms on this when your plane or chopper lands. I've got no problem with you and you know I've sent your sites decent traffic over the years. I just can't see it as copyright infringement when these girls gave me their content to promote on my blogs!!?? Commmmonn man! |

Did you promote anything besides SC sites? (because then I see his point)
Did you make any sales at SC? (because if you didnt make sales then you're just handing out free content) ------------- It's been years since I've even seen any SC sites though I seem to recall the images all had "licensed to sc" on them? like his biz model was to stay away from owning the images(and copyright)? I wonder if he even had copyright to pull on you |

Damn, that site takes "adapt or die" and shits on it hard.
If you actually reference the sites every time you post images then this is another case of program owners not having a clue what's good for them. I'm sure he's a nice fellow but I've seen program owners complain about everything under the sun, even when it benefited them greatly. |
William & the SC group are a good bunch. We worked with them for a long time and like any smart company, they protect their brand, copyright, property, etc. If you were getting Copyright violation notices you should have reached out to William directly to work something out.

I have never had any trouble with SC, and have promoted their girls for what, a decade. I agree the problem, was not your use, but your ignoring the contacts, you are giving everyone involved no choice but to take action. When simple copies of those emails could have solved everything so simply. Good luck on saving it. Apologies and proof, all you can do now is try.

Doesn't sound like you were very proactive in your response so you have to accept that you are in the position you are in for a perfectly good reason. Assuming you had a right to the content under those circumstances was just plain careless after you got the first notice. In fact, you basically just admitted in this thread that you were willfully continuing to disregard the copyright.
Everyone else that underestimates SC success and professional commitment to their brand is making a huge mistake. They don't care if anyone thinks they look straight out of 1998. They understand the amateur niche better than 99% of their peers. Hopefully lesson learned. :2 cents: |
It sucks, but its still their work and they have the right. I learned my lesson building on free host or Blogspot. They can pull the rug out from under you at anytime and all the work is gone.
They took down another site that had a bunch of girls from their network. Funny thing is if you do a search for half the girls on the SC network you get plenty of adult boards with links to all their stuff. I would go after them before I went after some blog site, unless you had links to download their content. On a side note, this Latin chick is the best they got, IMO.
