2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat - 707 hp / 650 ftlb

Curious if anyone saw the announcement of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat?

http://www.drivesrt.com/2015/challenger-srt-hellcat/

Pretty amazing...

707 hp and 650 ftlbs for probably around $55-60,000.

I currently have a 2013 GT500 with 662 hp and 631 ftlb, and thought that was huge for a non-supercar.

SRT is already adding that engine to the Charger as well...

Now if they add it to the SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee, I'd get rid of our SUV for that. 707 hp / 650 ftlb in an AWD SUV would be insane!

Love to see this horsepower war going on :)

Still looks and feels like complete shit on the inside.
I bet you it handles like ass too.
Only has 275 width tires in the back -- how's it going to get traction?
They couldn't fit a DCT transmission? They stuck their slow POS torque converter auto?

My 2014 M5 will kick its ass.
My 2011 Ferrari 458 with 560HP will kick its ass.

A Kia will kick its ass in interior look and feel.

Yeap have 285s on my GT500. Changing soon to 305 drag radials.

M5s and 458s are slightly different cars.

I used to own an M6, wouldn't really compare it to my GT500.

Sure full leather, suede headliners, auto closing doors etc... were nice on the M6, but it was a boring car... I hated it.

Also zeee Germans are a few years behind on electronics. The Nav/Electronics on my old M6 and my wife's current Range Rover are laughable. My GT500 is much more advanced in that regard. My wife's Nissan Leaf beater blows all our other cars' away tech wise.

Sort of just what you enjoy. Seeing big horsepower numbers is great. :)

My friends wife has owned super high end SUVs (X6M, Cayennes, etc...) and just sticks with SRT Jeeps. They both love them.

I run 305/30/20 Nitto NT05 semi-slick street legal drag radials on my F10 M5 rears.

What year M6? I bet you are talking about E63 body version stopped in 2010.

The 2013+ F10 M5/ F13 M6 are completely different and you cant compare a 2010 car (or older) to 2013/14.

Funny, my wife loved my '07 Jeep SRT8 back then too and still wants a new one.

Yeah it was an 08 old V10.

Really used to the TT V8s in the X5M and X6M. Haven't driven an M5/M6 version yet though :)

458 Italia is the first Ferrari I have liked in a while (when I say liked I mean love), absolutely beautiful car but it is very very different to a Challenger, different type of people who would buy them, I'm sure you know that.

The new Hellcat throws out some highly impressive numbers, I'd love to take one to a track but as far as owning one, it isn't the type of car I'd go for, I'd rather spend a bit more and get an M3, Audi S6 or something like that. Maybe Mitch will let me borrow his 458 :winkwink:

Looks like they are thinking about doing this in the 4 door Charger as well.

Emmasturbate 07-30-2014 04:43 PM

it's so great because they have a techy music video to help advertise it

TidalWave 07-30-2014 05:59 PM

0-60mph in 4.4s with an "SRT driver" even, other "experienced" guys could only get 4.7s out of it.
ha... supposed power, but unable to use it.

Emmasturbate 07-30-2014 06:05 PM

Get an SL 65 AMG and then let BRABUS modify it even more
it takes a heck of a lot more money but then it is a true brute
