I wonder how many drones and cameras were damaged filming that.

I haven't pulled my footage from the camera and I didn't get that close, but I got some nice shots with my Phantom the other night.

Was in Huntington Beach for the 4th, there was a helicopter buzzing the fireworks display, like a private show, front & center, really close to the explosions, had to be pretty cool view.

I heard that here in Canada they are considering passing a law that will limit drones to 300ft. Kinda sucks but understandable.
