Not a huge fan of remakes but this has potential. Previews always look good though, that's the problem.

MaDalton 07-28-2014 09:47 AM

i just saw a bunch of explosions - not interested in that

Rochard 07-28-2014 09:51 AM

Looks good really....

bronco67 07-28-2014 10:01 AM

Looks like lots of real metal on metal car stunt work. George Miller knows what he's doing with this stuff.

skrog 07-28-2014 10:02 AM

The remake is being directed by George Miller who did the original trilogy. I have faith in it being somewhat decent.

Mad Max is a great movie, I hope they don't blew it.

seeandsee 07-28-2014 10:38 AM

Looks fine by trailer

SplatterMaster 07-28-2014 10:44 AM

Looks like The Road Warrior

EonBlue 07-28-2014 10:54 AM

Apparently it's a reboot and not a remake. So they won't be retelling the same story lines from the previous movies.

Yeah not just that, looks like a bunch of scenes without any dialog and sense.Seems company which did that trailer suck at it,I guess we are getting closer to era from "idiocracy" movie.

It's supposedly a 2 hour chase movie which is what Miller wanted to do.

There's very limited dialog and a loose narrative. Not all movies have to fit in the box of having some complex plot and lots of blah blah explaining shit.

WDF 07-28-2014 11:53 AM

No dialog means not having to mute the sound or ignore it. You still get to hear the sound FX.

MiamiBoyz 07-28-2014 12:21 PM

I can fap to that.

Rebel D 07-28-2014 01:01 PM

at least Bay is not directing it

People forgot that most good movies can be watched with the sound off, because of showing instead of telling.

bronco67 07-28-2014 01:50 PM

Fun fact...the mastermind of the Road Warrior/Mad Max movies is also the creator of the Babe and Happy Feet movies.

brassmonkey 07-28-2014 02:09 PM

more bullshit :2 cents::2 cents:

femdomdestiny 07-28-2014 02:40 PM

Looking good. At least from here..precisely what Mad Max should be.

just a punk 07-28-2014 02:49 PM

Looks very sad and unnatural. The big cinema is dying?

I like to think through the scene,....looking forward to killing a couple of hours, making my own. :thumbsup

CaptainHowdy 07-28-2014 03:47 PM

Like the original Mad Max movies were any better ...

American Psycho 07-28-2014 06:52 PM

Looks good.
mad max was awesome!

1215 07-28-2014 07:34 PM

it looks visually awesome. 2 hours might be too long if there's not enough substance to keep you watching.

Well that is difference between serve the purpose movie and great movie.

Ferus 07-29-2014 01:25 AM

I loved the Mad Max movies, and I think (if done right) its the right time to revisit the Mad Max universe.

Tom Hardy was good in last few movies, but I hope they can get the "insanity" part of Mad Max right, so its not just a FX movie

Nathan Jones is in it as well - will be good to see how he does on screen

I like the trailer, not a fan of CGI from start to finish but I like Hardy and Theron, can't wait to see it! I am pretty sure it is going to do great in box office.

HAHAHAHHAHA.

I was booked to work on this in Australia, where it SHOULD have been filmed. Before production started the Australian dollar went way up, and then massive rains hit around Broken Hill, where all the external locations were. Thing about the desert around Broken Hill is that when it does rain the whole desert looks like a sea of wild flowers. Not exactly the right look for Mad Max. So it got moved to Africa and all the Aussie crew got laid off.

I agree, it's today's Hollywood style to try make movies so bad ass looking that in my eyes they just turn to some sort of comic, somekind of parody.

Original Mad Max movies were very much different than that movie, based on it's trailer.

I generally try to stay away from any CGI remakes of anything whatsoever.

I guess CGI may have effectively killed action / adventure / horror movie as we know it, as it doesn't have to rely on the acting or production craft, anything can be easily turned into more of a videoclip like, fake hype, attention deficit disorder non-sense and sadly, plenty of "viewers" will find it "cool".

Fortunately, there's always plenty of older movies to explore.

TeenCat 07-29-2014 04:42 AM

the effects and visuals are good, just hope it will have some story also ...

I think that sometimes, technical limitations are what keep some directors in check. A lot like Will Farrel, he's a funny guy when he's controlled, but let him do his own thing and he takes it too far and you end up with Talledega Nights. George Lucas is the same. Kept in check we got the first 3 Star Wars, left unfettered, we got the updated versions of the original trilogy and last 3 Star Wars.

I do hope that they keep the original feel of the series though.

Tom-LifeSelector 07-29-2014 09:32 AM

I really like the 3 original movies, curious about the remake...

I liked Guilermo Del Toro movies until he got Hollywood size budgets.
