For Best SEO should my website have the www

Is is better to set up a website with the www or have it redirect the www to the non www address? For example www.mywebsite.com and mywebsite.com are not the same address. Which one is the better way to set up your website?

It doesnt matter for seo but i prefer the non www for all of my sites.

I prefer to redirect to www since it's better down the line for technical reasons (like cookie control on subdomains).

It's not an SEO issue.

I think Godaddy gives you a choice of which way to set them up, and I had been setting them up with the non www address. Then I found out the Google doesn't index the www site if you set it up that way. Also, you have to make certain that you set up Google Webmaster tools however you set up your site.

I guess experience is the best teacher.

For SEO it doesn't matter, www or no www, it matters that you have only one version, since two of them will have too many duplicate content that really hurts your rankings

no difference, I like without the www

Does not matter as long as you use only one.
