Google Domains: Anyone have an invite?

I want to migrate from Godaddy to Google Domains.

Google Domains costs the same and has FREE privacy, no gimmicks. I'm in to try.

Anyone have an invite please?

I'm not into conspiracy theories but I give Google access to enough of my life, no way I'm giving them that important piece as well.

They already have access to any information that your domain registrar has on you, including domains that are private registered.

This is true.

Imagine all the data GoDaddy has on the industry

Google Domains are $12 + private registration. It looks like they might be providing free SSL for new domains in the future, but not currently.

Anyone else have a Google Domains invite?

I haven't received an invite to my Gmail yet :(

Paul&John 08-21-2014 09:48 AM

what about http://www.namesilo.com/
$8.99 with free whois for life

RummyBoy 08-21-2014 09:57 AM

You might just as well register at NSAdomains.com and get your data into the matrix without a middle man.....

Better to go with http://namecheap.com :thumbsup

this is the best offer for domains and using them from the launch, period :thumbsup

not even namecheap can compete with this, nor goshitty

Bladewire 08-21-2014 10:42 AM

Looks like NameCheap is pretty cool for transfers for $9.69 with free privacy protection and $1.99 SSL - better then any Godaddy deal I could find yet

I still want to try Google Domains. ANYONE on GFY with an invite to private message me or send to my email posted previously in this thread? It would be much appreciated :thumbsup

What are some possible upsides of using Google Domains? I can't think of any...

druid66 08-21-2014 11:56 AM

do you think that registering on google may affect positively your ranking on google?
is that why you're gonna try them?

just guessing..

I just want to try them out. Google DNS seems a benefit, but anyone can do that. Google farms out the registrations, they don't do them in house. Another benefit is that the domain is kept within Google Apps and can be readily used and integrated to things like Google Drive, forms, etc.

I have found that just going to the Google Apps page, I can register a domain there :thumbsup

I'm liking Google Domains so far (wish the fees were a little lower...like at least $10 instead of $12) especially the e-mail forwarding and shit.

The free domain I got along with my invite was cool :)

Their free whois privacy for life. e-mail forwarding, hosted DNS at Google, and very clean/minimal interface with no bullshit...plus they give you a free domain :pimp.

BlackCrayon 08-21-2014 03:14 PM

google domains... haha. use them and then they'll really know what domains you own and link to etc. and another thing to remember, that google using key-systems for their domain business....the same company that owns moniker.

Google domains?? No way! Namesilo rocks.

Aric 08-21-2014 08:30 PM

+1 for NameSilo.com ... free whois privacy for life (namecheap is only the first year).

I'm still intrigued by Google Domains though.

Namecheap is pretty damn cheap...... anything cheaper than that, concerns me in the long run. Id rather my registrar is making some decent profit. :2 cents:

georgeyw 08-21-2014 10:14 PM

Google provide horrible customer service, not a chance i'd pay them for anything.

why is that? they are icann accredited, from arizona, the only difference - they are new, so they had to come up with something to attract new clients

RyuLion 08-22-2014 12:12 AM

I have invites but I need them all..
