Etology was like adbrite/black label ads and it closed in 2011. Also similar to adengage which also closed.

I guess the new owner liked the domain? I can't think of anything from its past that would make someone want to use it again other then catchy name that sold ads once.

I just remember etology use to spam the shit out of publishers and it's was super annoying.

Buying traffic depends on the advertiser as much as the publisher. They need to have compelling ads and a landing page/offer that converts. One of the best things about Teresa and the Etology crew is they work with advertisers to perfect these for maximum conversion. What I usually do is start with a small test budget and figure out what works and what doesn?t work and scale from there.
