Dont want a kit-car

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_1-litre_car

http://media.treehugger.com/assets/i...crop-scale.jpg

Does 235 Miles per gallon

When that VW or something like it goes on sale, I will get one. Would save me a TON of Money each year with my daily commute

I've read about those, pretty awesome.

The interesting thing to me about the is not just the 84 mpg but the $7,000. sticker price.

venus 09-06-2014 02:29 PM

this thing was on the news here, its made in Phoenix, Az, its basically a 3 wheel motor cycle with a hard shell over it and a steering wheel

Like you said it's kind of "kit car-ish" but could be great basic transportation for some.

A waterproof, air conditioned bike. I think it was posted too.

I was checking local weather radar before riding and saw their internet advertisement so looks like they are about to launch. Good cheap alternative to a used car for commuting.

I could see myself buying one....

Is there a spot behind the driver for a passanger? At least with a bike they can hold your waist.

adultchatpay 09-06-2014 05:44 PM

Mr. Bean can drive that.

pornmasta 09-06-2014 05:48 PM

it doesn't look very strong

ErectMedia 09-06-2014 05:57 PM

American made can be good or bad, these days anyway, see how they hold up. With some customization I might dig it, as it sits stock not sexy enough. Not sure you would be unique with one though with the price so low as it may become the next Yugo.

:1orglaugh This is from the movie The Other Guys.. Love that movie!

The car looks amazing but from what I've read in the past the production dates keep getting pushed back yet they keep asking for more to pre-order one.. Almost sounds like a scam that will never see production

That said the car thing looks amazing and I could see myself driving one
:thumbsup

I'm not sure that would cut it in one of our winters up here in iglooville.

Free t-shirt and bumpersticker though? Tempting...

VikingMan 09-07-2014 11:10 AM

I don't care if these cars get 1,000 mpg. I am still going to drive my 10 mpg huge truck because at least if some trendy douchebag self absorbed fuck is driving a smaller car and insists on texting or drinking and driving and runs into me that I have a good chance that the fucker will become nothing but a bug on my bumper. Having a fuel efficient car won't do you much good of if you are dead or or paralyzed.

Good point. I know that bigger is usually more unsafe if I am the person who is driving like a fucktard and go off the road or have to stop suddenly. A bigger car is often worse if for instance I drive off the road and hit a telephone pole. The size of the vehicle will work against me. But if some fuck is texting and runs into me head on then I am better off in my big truck. Since I drive very cautiously at this point in my life I feel that driving a big vehicle is the safest choice.

This is true as some of the smaller cars have awesome safety ratings. My concern is the bounce factor. If a heavy car gets hit it might move a little. If a smaller car gets hit could bounce that fucker 1-2 lanes over. Maybe a semi is in that other lane and no car will save ya then.

I drive a small car but someday's I wish I was in one of my old 70's cars with real hardcore steel around me so if I do get hit I don't get pushed crazy like a little bitch.

As long as you like it I guess that is all that matters. Things drive me nuts, seems they are always in the fast lane going slow as hell blocking your path...

pornguy 09-08-2014 06:21 AM

For people with very long drives in little traffic they would work well. Not for me.

I put 40$ in my car and drive for usually about 2 weeks. We dont go far or fast. no need. everything is 5 min away.

michael.kickass 09-08-2014 06:31 AM

Looks fabulous, imho.

I usually spend over $200. a week in gas. The last couple weeks barely over $100. as I used my bike a lot. It's starting to get cold out....
