Probably a stupid question
Ok I have what I believe is probably a stupid question but here it is. After searching the forum I settled with amerinoc for my hosting because it seams to be fairly highly recommended. My issue is now that I have a domain name registered and hosting plan purchased how do I accesses it to build my site? Do they have a site builder somewhere that I am not seeing?

No, they don't have a site builder.
Take 1h to watch this: Then look for other tutorials depending on what you wish to create. Here's a newer version: |
Wow you really jumped the gun there. Generally you build a website before buying the hosting, build it locally, test it on a free server if you can, then move it to a live domain. If you didn't get into a contract, go ahead and cancel your subscription until you have your website built so you don't waste any money.
What kind of site are you trying to build? Do you need your own site, can you drive traffic to it? It's a lot tougher than you might imagine. If you don't already have a traffic source to move to your new site, you'll probably need a good bit of money to put into advertising, and this is only if you have enough content to advertise for. Take a step back, and get your whole plan worked out on paper, make sure you stay legal (there are documentations which need to be in order) and I am happy to help you as much as I can here in this thread, let's just start with what kind of site you are building and I'll do my best to point you in the right direction from there. |
I would have preferred building the site before buying hosting. Amerinoc is strange. Even there knowledge base only has 27 posts only 3 of which are tutorials. I went with a month to month for 9.95 and no recurring billing so I lost $10. I think I will be moving it now. As for my site's...I am new to the game so I figured the best way to get my feet wet is with a dating site "niche" and a small tube site. I'm not looking to spend big money yet just treading into the water.

Well on the good side, dating sites are still allowed by google ads, so you can advertise for it with google, which isn't possible with porn sites.
What are your plans for getting traffic to your dating site, are you going to monetize it with ads or take in cash to be a member? I'm not sure if there are any easy pre-made dating sites that you can just set up without custom code, so that's something to figure out for sure. The tube site should be easy, plenty of templates, you just need to find some content and a way to drive traffic to it, you have a TON of competition in that sector. $10 isn't bad at all, you may want to look into hiring someone to set up a basic site for you, there are plenty of people out there willing to create a simple tube site for around $50, check out reddit.com/r/forhire |
