A little food porn

http://www.madspiders.com/images/freshfromthegrill.jpg

6 lb RibEye roast smoked in a weber 18.5" grill with a 50/50 mix of apple and cherry. 3 hours between 220-250 then wrapped in foil for 2 hours still at 220-250.

No rub, just salt and pepper.

I like mine well done, but that could be fixed here - this is the only part of the beef I truly like and this looks so good. I am glad you didn't ruin it by putting so many seasonings on it that it takes away that flavor.

Now some garlic smashed potatoes and a salad and we're on our way to an orgasm. :thumbsup :1orglaugh

PR_Glen 10-10-2014 06:32 AM

looks pretty good man. i keep putting off buying a smoker, i need to really get one..

I just use my Weber 18.5" kettle grill. Works great for smaller chunks of meat.

Nah, the picture is off a bit lightwise. It is actually just about a perfect medium rare. Took it up to about 165 degrees inside. I tried to adjust the second pic a little but wasn't having much luck getting it to look like it really does so just used what I had.

Had a little for dinner last night and I am getting ready to slice up a bit for sammiches ;p

Oh boy, I can't even think of doing that - I have tried it but I can't get thru it.

Ribeye is the ONLY steak I've ever seen that is still tender when well done - the rest are tough, bordering jerky. But when I go out to eat and have steak, my order is "Well done, burn it if you have to". I've gotten a TAD bit better and can take a light light shade of pink, but well done is the only way I can enjoy it.

Do that with another cut though and it's ruined- which is why I don't eat those cuts. lol

A ruination of perfectly good cow :2 cents:

Steaks should be on an extremely hot grill then 20-30 seconds per side.

Around $45.00. That one is a little over 6 pounds and was at $6.98 a pound. :thumbsup

In the first pic, I was thinking it looked more med/well (different lighting often makes it look more well done than it is), but in these it looks perfect. Ive never smoked a prime rib before.. BBQ'd yes, even cooked one with a salt crust. Looks like I may have a new project for next summer. do you get a decent smoke ring when cooking a prime rib? And how far into the meat do you get the flavor?

GAMEFINEST 10-10-2014 01:08 PM

Looks better than vagina.

PaperstreetWinston 10-10-2014 04:00 PM
