The styling from the side is very similiar to my Kia Optima EX.

Dunno if I'd put my faith and confidence in the auto-pilot (yet). Not sure how the auto insurance industry is going to deal with it.

Same here. I know Google has driverless cars in California. I think I'd be terrified for the first 50 trips or so.... but still, cool, amazing, futuristic technology going on these days... all we need now are flying electric self-flying cars, and we'll have officially arrived.

Driverless cars are legal in a handful of states. Obviously California being one of them.

I can't wait for more states to legalize it and more companies to jump in. I will be one of the first buyers when proven safe.

As long bomb attacks by self driving cars are not targetted by terrorists its going to be cool

Do you think criminals would be able to alter the driving path on these?

Create a traffic jam, hop in and hack the driving software, reroute to chop shop.

Yeah not a big fan of the sedan, too cheap looking. If I spend 100k on a car I want to have some attitude. Still love Tesla though, best car company out there.

Self driving is inevitable. It's just the next step in transportation. There will be signs or that you entering a self driving zone or or leaving ect...

Naw, the software will be hosted in the Cloud - which is unhackable. :1orglaugh

:error

(car thieves will be treated to pics of Jennifer Lawrence on the GPS nav console, though)

What about drunk drivers think they won't get a DWI?

I think that's something that has to be decided and laws written. If the car really drives that well, do you even need a drivers license? Issues that need to be figured out if they haven't already.

I can't wait to get one, be great to work or watch movies while on the road.

You'll still need it as ID to rent porn at the local vidstore.

Yup, runs on "free environmentally friendly electricity".

Rochard 10-11-2014 02:37 PM

If you read the fine print.... This not yet ready for sale. You can buy the car now with the cameras and radar to make it work, but it won't be functional yet.

One pulled up next to me a couple of weeks ago. There was a driver "along for the ride," but the car was definitely driving itself. I took a couple of pics, but they were from my phone, and they suck.

Wow... freaking awesome. Would love to see one of these in person. Not sure if I'd let it take me for a ride though....

AdultKing 10-11-2014 06:13 PM

That's quite an impressive vehicle.

marlboroack 10-11-2014 07:54 PM

In Silicon Valley, there are tons of crazy things going on like that all of the time.
