Nobody cares for kernel updates these days?

I have servers with uptime of 500+ days, but still you like to do kernel update and fsck once in a great while on any production server...

However, on stand-alone PC or "testing" server - it's entirely different story :)

sandman! 10-20-2014 04:35 PM

960 days up without a reboot

depends on what the server is doing.

this specific server is just serving static content

I update kernel and any software upgrades as soon as they are released. :2 cents:

What he said. I hope it's a *BSD server in this case or you're asking to get rooted.

It doesn't. What does "nine six zero" represent? If it's minutes, no, that's not impressive at all.

I have no idea what my uptime is. I cannot remember the last time my server had issues- it was years ago.

sandman! 10-21-2014 05:24 PM

Of course its freebsd a linux server will never last that long lol
