Funny thing is I was approached by an animal rights group to photograph how animals are raised and slaughtered for the meat industry. After they showed me what photos they already had I've decided to become a vegan.

I grew up a farm boy so let me explain;

As a child meat came from 2 sources. 1) My father shot it in the woods. 2) My father slit the animal's throat out behind the tool shed.

As an adult I'm just old enough to remember when grocery store food was modestly "OK" coming from acceptable sources.

So it never once occured to me that the animals being raised for slaughter were living in such cruel conditions that I would have to be a serious asshole to knowningly support the meat industry by purchasing their stuff. Second because I was a farm boy I know that the quality of the meat you eat depends on how the animal was raised and how it was killed. So truthfully the meat sold today is fucking toxic.

Today it's almost impossible to find cruelty free and non-toxified meat. So I stopped eating it. And you know I'm not suffering at all... I've lost weight and if anything I feel a lot healthier.
