I just saw Interstellar and my verdict on IMDB rating of the film is:
Rigged!
I think this was 8.9/10 movie, yet IMDB has a rating of 9.0/10. Since they had 160 millions they must have paid for the fake rating. Bastards

I think you will like it. I saw it last week and plan to see it again while its still in IMAX. It "looks" different from other Nolan flicks (like the Dark Knight) but I read afters that he used a different cinamaarogapher this time so maybe that has something to do with it.
Try not to read any spoilers. There's another thread on GFY that's loaded with spoliers so avoid it until after you've seen it.

I've heard of 4dx but I don't know if I personally would like it. I like Ridefilms at theme parks like The Simpsons Ride in Orlando (and the best ever ride, Back to The Future: The Ride, sadly, gone now).
I looked up 4DX and found this:
I think it would take me away from the movie, but maybe I'm wrong. Can you tell me how they used 4dx for Interstellar?

There are different levels of 4d. Some the movie is also in 3d, and then they add the 4d.
Interstellar was not in 3d, but the 4dx was awesome.
So....the seat rumbles when they are driving through corn. Or when they are blasting off in the rocket. Every seat has speakers at each ear also, so the surround aspect is awesome. When they were flying in the ranger...or in the spaceship...the seat moved with the motion. They even had a sort of circling motion for when they approached the blackhole.
When they were on the water planet and riding the massive wave, you felt like you were also riding a wave because of the motion of the seat. Some movies they would have a find very fine spray of water...like a mist if you were in that setting. However since you were in the ship..no water.
That sort of thing. If you are a serious movie guy, I really think it is worth it to book a layover at least and stay in Korea for 1-2 days on your way to thailand or what not.
See 2-3 movies a day in 4d.
Spiderman was amazing in 4d. When he swings on his web, you move with it. When the spider bit his neck, you got hit with a blast of air in the back of the neck. When he got punched the seat punched you a bit...amazing

Maybe this weekend I'll go see it, too much publicity kinda takes the interest away sometimes.

But were you distracted by the seat motion and other effects? Or did you feel that it enhanced the movie / story / impact for you?
Here in Montreal they have some motion seats (I forget the name) but I've never tried them. In theme parks, the "4D" effects are freaking awesome, but the point is to make the experience "fun". In an emotional movie like Interstellar, wouldn't the 4D just ruin what the filmmaker was trying to achieve? I will have to try it for myself one day...

Amazing movie. It's the kind of movie that makes you feel like you went through something when you walk out.
Loved the score, and it didn't bother me that it overpowered the dialogue at times.
