No search words anymore?

It appears to me, that you can hardly see anymore what sarchword people used to vsit your site?
Usually you would get the actual searchquery something like Google
BUt now most google links are redirect urls.

What happened between now and back then ? and how to find out what people look for to get on your site

XMaster 12-05-2014 02:04 AM

leg4 12-05-2014 02:05 AM

There are two ways to figure out what words may have been used. Check the landing pages for the keywords you can't see to get some idea of the keywords used and/or most "hidden" keywords are usually a mixture of your top 5 keywords.

Frank21 12-05-2014 11:10 PM

This is fucked up, how can you update your site if you dont have a clue what kind of people come on your site.
Maybe you get a totally wrong crowd on your site without even knowing it.
How can it be that no webmaster even complained about this shit?
You would think webmasters think this is fucked up, instead nobody cares sick shit these days man.

This is why google removed the information.

It was so easy to see which of your pages were getting traffic and from what keywords. Then you could just simply check your rankings, and either adjust your on-page SEO or throw more links at those pages to move them up in the SERPs.

And many webmasters have complained. But google doesnt give a fuck about webmasters complaining or your websites. When it first happened, all of the SEO forums were full of crying webmasters. Amazing that you're just now finding out about it.

freecartoonporn 12-05-2014 11:26 PM

its pretty old news.

420 12-05-2014 11:30 PM

You guys see this new search engine called binge or bing or something like that? I'll stick with dogpile.

Paz 12-06-2014 04:55 AM

You can get a lot of your keyword data via a Google Webmaster tools account- you can't get any other data eg bounce rates time on site, goals etc but it's still worth setting it up.

Frank21 12-06-2014 05:48 AM

happens to be, that i prefer not to have a google webmasts anything, so i am shit out of luck if i am correct.

In GWT you see which keywords send traffic to which pages of yours, so it's just a matter of your skills to find out other interesting facts/data from this info

Google went to https:// and hid referrer strings about a year ago. How did you not notice this? Did you just wake up from a coma?

Emil 12-09-2014 03:37 AM

Google made this change because they want us to guess what our visitors want and they want us to produce as much shit as possible and just put it out there.

Frank21 12-10-2014 01:12 AM

I think google wants us to pay for paid advertisements and get rid of "free search traffic" in the future!

hadden 12-10-2014 01:15 AM

Privacy and Privilege.

The Porn Nerd 12-10-2014 01:19 AM

THIS (and a hundred other reasons) is why I have never played the Google SEO circle jerk game. Happy as fuck I never did, either.

mboros 12-10-2014 03:01 PM

If you need traffic outside of the major search engines, let me know. I have adult keywords with high volume and low cpc's. Skype me at mike.boros1.

no but seriously, i am really pissed off now.
Seems like google wants to fuck and kill all small websites in order to create an internet only for massive companies like google youtube etc

chronik 12-13-2014 12:19 AM

Google has gone from innovative and cute, to the almighty genius tool for everything, to just being completely fucking annoying. can't stand google much longer...

Frank21 12-13-2014 12:43 AM

Hey i have a revolutionairy idea. Maybe if yo link to my site, and i link to your side. People may visit your site thru my site and visa versa.

johnny_d 12-13-2014 12:54 AM

AwStats -> Referrers -> Search :xmas-smil22

I dont have it installed now, but I thing that Piwik could be good too (there is more analytics programs, but Piwik is another one, which is free).

Frank21 12-13-2014 12:59 AM

what is this a joke, i have awestats but it says searchwords 0 as in fucking zero.
But by referrals says google.com 36
Meaning 36 people came to my site but i do not have a clue why they come to my site. and if i should keep the site or no.
Maybe they arive by some random word or crazy shit but have totally no potential to sell anything.

johnny_d 12-13-2014 01:20 AM

I dont remember what it was exactly, but there is a way to capture all the keywords, and I think that it was through server logs, or some other programs. Google Analytics was able to do that, other program would be able to do it too...

Frank21 12-13-2014 01:22 AM

I dont think sot heo, the URL is encrypted and it seems that it is a redirect anyway

36 people? Thats a lot of fail
Aren you hiding the site or something?

sumphatpimp 12-13-2014 02:07 AM

are you guys serious?
you never heard of Edward Snowden?
the NSA --> National Security Agency?
TOR --> the onion router?
nobody wants to identified on the internet today.
google those terms I gave you.
do some reading.

Frank21 12-14-2014 12:41 AM

yeayea what you dont understand is that it is GOOGLE who should not have your information.
A webmaster can only see what you searched for but he dont know where you live, what you say in your emails, where you are, where you have been the past 10 years..... GOOGLE does.
if you are conserned over your privacy you should not use google, instead of disabling the internet by not letting webmasters know what you are interested in while visiting the site.

Get over it, they are not coming back.

Use webmaster tools if you cant figure out any other way to make an educated guess at your keywords.
