Question is for non-Americans. Be honest.

RummyBoy 12-08-2014 07:39 AM

I haven't seen much lately but most movies I watched were American. TV series maybe 30% UK, 60% US, 10% Something else. I loved some old shows like House, Cheers, Columbo, Murder She Wrote, Knight Rider, A-Team, Man From Uncle you know all that shit going way back.

John-ACWM 12-08-2014 07:49 AM

:1orglaugh But what about the "Littlest Hobo" - wasn't that Canadian? I used to love that show when I was a kid.

What about that show about a Canadian Mountie and his husky dog? What was it called? That was a popular show even in UK.

stoka 12-08-2014 10:16 AM

90% and same goes for literature

Rochard 12-08-2014 10:25 AM

I work for Dating Factory and we have an office in England, and I talk people there all the time. Although we all speak the same language, the differences can be huge. The other day my boss told me "don't cock it up". HUH? It's rather amusing.

MrBottomTooth 12-08-2014 10:28 AM

Cant think of anything i watch that isn't us except for trailer park boys and dragon's den.

MaDalton 12-08-2014 10:30 AM

when it comes to series and movies probably 90+%

2MuchMark 12-08-2014 10:45 AM

I'm in Canada. All of my TV viewing is American. Us Canadians just make crappy shows. There are a few exceptions but generally Canadian content is dull, dull dull. Americans do good TV.

Its called "cultural imperialism" where the imperial power completely wipes out the native countries culture. All cinema chains and product are controlled by the US

Even so called British films are just scams to get tax breaks. Can anyone believe that "we Have to Talk about Kevin" was a British film?

Other films are where Britain supplies quaint false royal history for the USA whose own history belongs to the people they murdered and replaced.

nico-t 12-08-2014 01:12 PM

movies close to 100% , tv shows about 75% i guess.

ravo 12-08-2014 01:27 PM

Define "American". Some of you Canadians would be surprised how many shows are actually produced right here. eg; "Suits"

djroof 12-08-2014 01:45 PM

I watching only The Walking Dead...

That's an easy one; it means don't fuck it up.

I never knew otherwise until I dated a Brit. The I discovered that I actually find English humor much funnier.

SilentKnight 12-08-2014 06:14 PM

Being in Canada, I'd say a large percentage of movies/shows I watch are American. But an increasing number of movies are being shot in Canada these days - so the lines are blurring.

It wasn't till the third-watching of the Hulk movie before I realized, "Damn...that looks like Hamilton and Toronto." :1orglaugh

CarlosTheGaucho 12-08-2014 06:46 PM

Movies - may be cca 60 pct. guess what factors in is that I was raised on and still tend to watch also all sorts of British, other European, and at times even Latin American, Japanese or Hong Kong movies. It's always a refreshing insight into various different cultures. Most of those US movies are either classics or all sorts of B movies that I watch for crap value.

Series - cca 85 pct. - with a few British and Scandinavian exceptions it's pretty much all US - we may even speak about a golden age of TV production during the past 15 or so years (unlike theatrical).

mineistaken 12-08-2014 06:54 PM

80 percent. Have to agree with this:
