Can We Use This Technique To Sell Porn? Social Norms
Rather than just telling people how good the porn is, do we have to convince them that everyone else has been buying it? Apparently convincing people that something is a social norm is a highly effective way to change their behavior.

Porn is an impulse buy. people don't need/use logic and reason to buy a hotdog outside of home depot or a kittkatt at the grocery store.

It's more subliminal maybe.
Porn is acceptable behavior like farting is in public. "Stop watching porn and playing with your cock. Get to work!" In more puritanical cultures: politicians end up resigning, school teachers get fired, workers get canned for watching or emailing porn, ad infinitum. Generation Y (the Millennials) have a more acceptive attitude toward porn. So, a lot would depend on you audience. However, buying power should be considered as well as branding or PR of a product or market. |
