I agree, it doesn't make sense that one of the pioneers in adult isn't in.

Could someone tell me though why any of these people got the awards they did, over anyone else? GFY throws names at us and says vote, when we have no idea what their credentials even are for the past year, in a lot of cases.

Could someone explain to me what Patrick The Hun did to get Webmaster of the Year this past year? (Over someone else? I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, just curious if anyone knows why he should have gotten it -- or why anyone should have gotten the awards they did).

People/companies get nominated by themselves or others, then there are 3 or 4 rounds of voting, open to all GFY account holders.

Unless I'm mistaken that's how it works.

I'm asking WHY? Why does someone deserve the award? What did they do to deserve it? Saying "they or someone else nominated them(selves)...doesn't give a reason as to why they should actually get it.

There's never any mention of what they actually did to get nominated. I would just like to hear what someone did in 2014, that they should even be considered -- other than they're a popular member on the board...and no one knows anything else.

I got nominated because I along with many others wrote an educational series article in 2014 and then people voted for the one they thought should win.

Crak came out with their geomatic tool, that is what they did in 2014. I don't recall the others in the category and what they won.

There are 2 reasons why for you.

Can you show me the thread that stated this, when it came to voting for the nominees. You're kind of ignoring my point.

AmateurBros, I kinda answered your point, what did these people do to get nominated, there are 2 examples I gave you.

The voting is closed now, done for another year. Next year when they announce it again that's when you should ask all those who post for votes why they deserve it.

I suggest you write to Eric and demand he suspend all winners for an official public recount and each nominee should write a 2000 word essay explaining why they deserve to win. Let me know how that works out for you.

Your replies are quite humorous. Myself, I find if there are going to be awards people vote on, then they should also inform people as to why each nominee is being suggested (you can't grasp that?) -- sorry it's over your head and you need to make ignorant replies instead.
