I am sorry but his business experience is borrowing money from wealthy people, buying companies, then charging huge management fees while "hoping" to make a profit. That's just a racket - win or loose they makes money. This is what Trump does - every business he is involved in eventually goes under but he makes money "managing it" while slowly running it into the ground.

Combined with his 47% remark, he'll never recover.

The biggest mistake of them all was the past four years. If he really cared and wanted to make a difference for the middle class or poor people - which he has never been a part of - instead of going into hiding after loosing the election, he should have at the very least tried to make a difference, he should have started a charity to build houses for the poor or give food to the poor. You can't just say "I am going to campaign on helping poor people" when you've never done anything to help the middle class or poor people ever.

What really sunk Mitt Romney was Hurricane Sandy hitting the northeast just before the 2012 election, for the entire week he wasn't even being mentioned on the news. He could have possibly saved himself by taking his own money and sending a few semis full of goods to Jersey for the people there, it would have been the ultimate PR opportunity but he let it slide by.

Katrina allowed the president to look presidential, but Romney had the same trouble most of the current crop of republicans are going to have. He didn't resonate with non-whites and people under 30. To young people and non-white people he looked like just another rich white guy trying to buy the white house.

It seems that EVERY candidate from both of the ruling parties MUST profess their love of Sweet Baby Jesus (even if they don't believe it).

I can't imagine George Washington or Thomas Jefferson professing their love of one religion (christianity) in order to get elected. :(

You know who would make a great president? Or any leader? An Atheist. Someone who stands up and says we'll keep freedom of religion, but it stays out of politics. Decisions will be based on SCIENCE, ECONOMICS, SAFTEY and improving the lives of EVERYONE.

It would be a good start to not have them acting like they are stupid by pretending to believe in fairytales for sure.

But even the rest of what you say wouldn't be a given...money, greed, and the lust for power all trump any idealistic hopes.

Also...you have to realize that IF you went with "SCIENCE, ECONOMICS, SAFTEY and improving the lives of EVERYONE" without some type of exceptions...then we would indeed have "death panels" wouldn't we?

Because cold, calculated decisions based on science and economics would definitely call for the death of old people with terminal diseases.

But overall I agree. As a society we should stop demanding that our LEADERS profess belief in superstitious nonsense as a prerequisite to being elected.

It ensures one of two things:
1. We get a clown elected who actually DOES believe that horseshit.
2. We get what we have been getting for the last few decades: guys who will lie and PRETEND to believe it to get elected.

Bad idea. Very really very bad. Many problems, not the least of which is most all atheists are pissed off at the world and everything in it. Dictating people's lives based on science equally disturbing. Watch gattica.

I call bullshit. The only good thing religion has brought to people is some great art, and maybe some peace of mind. For everyone else, war, fear, and misery. Too many people use the fear of a god that does not exist, to control people, and even governments, and call it "truth". I'm not saying people shouldn't be allowed to believe what they want to believe, but if the world is ever going to advance at the rate that we can advance, leaders need to take religion out of their decision making processes.

For example, Climate Change is real, and man made, not god made, yet some religious nut jobs try to sway government to the contrary. Stem Cell Research should be allowed and encouraged. Women should have safe, easy access to contraception and abortion, but some think this is "against god's will" and have outlawed this in many states. People should be allowed to marry who they want. Etc, etc. Can you imagine how much better off things would be?
