Find another line of work. Seriously.

Skype does not require a camera or video chat. It is FREE software that lets you communicate via text messages just like ICQ but it also can allow voice calls like a telephone and most importantly it lets you share your screen so someone can show you what they are looking at online while you discuss it. Anyone in 2015 who doesn't have Skype and wont download Skype is causing 'meetings' to take 10x the necessary amount of time... and that wasted time is costing you money because the world will charge you more for making them use antiquated technology to communicate. If you are relying on ICQ you may as well switch back to using a fucking fax machine.

I am posting this so I can link to it and show it to people on ICQ rather than writing it out each time.

Saying "I don't have Skype, you can't share your screen just describe it all like I'm Stevie Wonder, you also have to email me that attachment instead of throwing it in the IM window, and while you are at it go find a phone if you want to do a voice call" is nonsense....

I only use ICQ for adult. Skype is my mainstream ID, do not want to mix up and having 2 skype IDs running simultaneously requires hacking skills.. Seriously, couldn't they make it easier?

ICQ for porn, Skype for mainstream/friends/family.

When I travel to shows I exclusively use Skype and if an actual meeting is needed then I use Skype.
But for everyday hit me ups I use ICQ. :)

Honestly only talk to a handful of people in adult these days through ICQ or direct text message to their phone. Years ago my shit was blowing up like mad got tired of it and switched numbers and rarely hand it out now. :2 cents:

I switched to skype for my business phone and sometimes the line is terrible.

could never find the blocking feature on icq so had to delete it and resort to Skype :upsidedow

I run 2 copies of skype all day... one for low level contacts and one for higher level contacts. No reason you can't run a 'friends/family account' and a 'business account' on your computer simultaneously.

How? I googled some methods, but they are not so user friendly as just choosing an option to have 2 accounts running from the menu etc.

I still prefer email. I answer when it's a good time for me, and the other party can do the same. That said, I have Skype and ICQ to accommodate those that think differently than I.

Still pretty complicated for average joe. Why not just some kind of drop down or something. This takes too much "hacking" for such a thing..

Average Joe does not need two accounts logged in at the same time.

Installing software to two separate directories is hardly complicated for anyone that would need multiple copies.

if running 2 skype's is hard for you then you have problems.

you dont need to install skype into 2 dir's to run multiple accounts.

I've had ICQ since 2002, I haven't opened it in at least 3 months, they've done their time. Everyone uses Skype now, or at least them that want to be found.

I still use both, Skype and ICQ.

No, instead you just use drop down menus and set it up like a consumer, not a hacker running all those DOS style command line things.
