How much should I offer for this domain (non-adult)
I'm trying to buy an acquired domain and I need to make an offer to the owner.
It's for a tourism/information/services site about a country (Uruguay) when the official language is Spanish. TODOURUGUAY.COM FYI: Todo = All/Everything It's a nice sounding a domain, an approximate translation would be something along the lines of abouturuguay.com How much should I offer without overpaying? Thanks |
1500 to 2500 seems to get me most domains that no one wants.

If I owned a name like that: Updated Date: 10-jun-2014 Creation Date: 09-jun-2004 Expiration Date: 09-jun-2015 his registration fees x2 :1orglaugh $250 |
Sabés quién es el dueño?

Look at all the new TLDs available... Mediocre .coms are going to become less and less useful. Domain Name Registration & Web Hosting for your Website let's you search 500 TLDs at a time.

I would make a lowball offer, he probably wants to sell. |

start with a super low offer and ask how much is it far from what he is expecting to get.
btw selling something and expecting a buyer to state a price is lame, when you go to a shop you see all products have prices on them, not that you have to make an offer and wait will they accept it or not. just imagine that with prostitutes :) |

You already messed up by contacting him before making an offer. Now the cunt mother fucker who owns this domain is going to get greedy and convince himself that it is worth a heap of money because someone else wants it. The more time you give this cunt mother fucker who owns this domain the more he will obsess over its value and how much he can get. You could have simply emailed him and said "I am buying some domains and came across blahblahblah.com and can offer you $250. This is usually the biggest amount I am spending on domains as I find most domains off fresh registrations and drops. If you would like me to send you $250 this week let me know. I can pay any and all transaction costs including escrow fees. If now then I wish you the best."
I know this because many times I have been the buyer and also have been the cunt mother fucker who owned a less than stellar domain. :1orglaugh So what happens is either the guy sells you the domain for your offer, ignores you, or you will get an email back asking for just a little bit more money. If he ignores you or comes back with a much higher asking price then you have the option of negotiating more and possibly paying much more. However you just likely missed out on an opportunity to buy the domain for a few hundred dollars. |

You're absolutely right. |
So in the end, he pays to renew the registration of a name of little value. Dream on, deeper into the hole ... You should just drop the names you register on a whim rather than investing hoping you can unload a dog -- done that plenty of times :2 cents:
|
When I contacted him he said he would also be interested in developing the site with me.
|
you can have this one for reg fee thingstodouruguaycom or thingstodoinuruguay.com

No way in hell that domain is worth a anything close to 1000. I would offer 100-200 max, but the one you got is better anyway.
|
Thanks...
