Take a train to Nice and then a bus to Isola2000 for a skiing in the Alps...
also, Nice is much cheaper than Monaco and you have trains going every 15-20minutes...

take a train to Bordeaux bike through the countryside and visit various Chateau. Drink wine, prepare to be amazed. Why would you want to go to Monaco or Nice unless you like rocky beaches. You can pass the time in Monaco by counting all the surveillance cameras. I think they have more per square inch than any other place on Earth.

Lunch at an outdoor café in Cannes overlooking Le Croissant avenue

May is a bit late in the season...end of April is really about it.

I would suggest korfu in greece

Kate Bi 04-13-2015 11:47 PM

Hey, you can take a flight from Nice to Mallorca. My favorite place in Europe so far

Sid70 04-14-2015 12:01 AM

Lisbon, go no place else.

Umbalabob 04-14-2015 02:31 AM

Prague! Best place on earth in my eyes!

klinton 04-14-2015 05:47 AM

London probably has more :1orglaugh
as for the OP: 5 days is nothing, just stay in one-two plaes and relax

Booked an additional 8 days in Europe!

Rome Naples and Amalfi

Thanks for the ideas guys! Will have to do them on my next trip for sure

pornguy 04-14-2015 06:15 AM

Depending on where you are flying from is weather your going to actually enjoy that trip or not.

5 days is not much if your going from the US. If you have never ever been before and don't think you will make it back any time soon, I would sell a kidney or similar and stay another 10 days. That way you have the days to get used to the time changes and then have some time to look around.

im going to be in Monaco for 3 days. Then Italy for 8. Yes 5 days for a total EU trip would be way to short

This last summer we did 44 days in EU and it was not enough.

Best way to plan a trip to Europe is plan the trip and THEN book the flights.

Its Croisette not Croisssant... One is a boulevard by the beach the other thing to eat with your cappuccino. A lot of good suggestions here but me, as a 25 year veteran of Cannes a nice but not outrageous place in vicinity is the Royal Casino Hotel ( now Pullman) in Mondelieou. Perfectly located and amazing...and about 30 minutes drive from Monaco.

If you are not an old fart you can stay in a hostel and score some of that backpacker pussy:thumbsup

Monaco for sure

jimmycooper 04-16-2015 11:17 AM

Save Prague for another trip and just stay in Provence. 5 or so days in Aix-en Provence and maybe a day and night in Avignon. I've traveled extensively through France as well as through much of Europe and Aix is easily one of my favorite places.

Here's a pic of Avignon.

Or if France isn't your thing, Cinque Terre is not too far from Monaco.

I was not impressed with Paris but my kid LOVED Disney there. Smaller than the one in FL but it was a nice visit.

Was not thrilled with Monaco either. But ass tons of places to see. Enjoy at least 1 train ride if you have never and also check out some of the Night sights.

Come south for the sun. I'd head down the Spanish coast to Barcelona & across to Portugal. Portugal is lovely all year around, but especially in summer.

Last year, my partner & I left Bournemouth UK, spending 2 weeks in several towns touring to Spain, where now we live. We stayed in London, Paris, St.Tropez & down towards Spain.

Once we arrived in Spain, enjoying it where we are so much, we asked ourselves, why did we spend 1000's of pounds staying in all of these places when we could have come straight here to Alicante. Simple answer, we enjoyed it!

Good luck on your travels & enjoy where ever you stay, as there's some amazing sights, foods & people to meet! :thumbsup
