The NWA Movie "Straight Out Of Compton" Who is going to watch it?

I personally love anything NWA. Was so real and raw when they came out with their music. It hit so hard and had a lot to say. Such an awesome story that needs to be told.

Their story proves you can come from anywhere and be anything you want in life if you go after your dreams.

This is one movie I do plan on going to see.

Of course I'll watch it!

NaughtyVisions 04-16-2015 06:38 PM

I was never really an NWA, but I've liked Dre's solo stuff, some of Ice Cube's solo stuff and a bit of Eazy-E....I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan or anything. (Though I have been listening to "Gangsta Gangsta" since discovering that GWAR was inspired by it for the first verse of "The Salaminizer."

But the movie does seem interesting. I'll probably watch it once it hits OnDemand, similar to Jersey Boys.

I will. Looks like a flashback fest.

mozadek 04-16-2015 07:12 PM

I'm a fan of NWA but I won't see the movie in theaters or even in DVD when it comes out. The movie will whitewash history, present the members of NWA in the best light possible, amplify their struggle to get a record deal with a major label and so on.

Going back to elementary school I read everything I could get my hands on about them in newspapers, magazines and books; which i feel gives a better representation of what actually happened.

Hard work and a dream! These guys are serious proof of that.

Have you seen this?

This is by far one of the funniest scenes Ice Cube was ever in. I was laughing my ass off! A must watch!

Keep in mind The white kids character is under cover in a college and Ice Cube is his captain and in charge of this undercover operation.

actually he was in the harlem crips rollin 30's. he is not a mean person looks out for the youth.

His longtime girlfriend was a Criplet--a female Crip gang member in Los Angeles, California. He is the first hip-hop MC to perform the notorious C-Walk dance in front of cameras in the early 1980s. His longtime partner was Darlene Ortiz. They have one son together, Tracy Marrow Jr.

Was listening to that live stuck on the 405 on my way into the Hustler office. A bunch of the homies are coming out down here in OC to watch this opening day. The group has had an amazing impact, both collectively, and on individual projects for so much of So Cal. I can't fucking wait!
