Hosting for large tube site
 

Lets say I want to have a tube with 100TB of clips, all self hosted. How cheap I can go on a server, and what kind of plan would I need for this, and where? It would be self-managed, I would set everything up, fix things, whatever would be needed for this.

Also, how would this work, if I would want to go up to 200TB of clips (this sounds like a lot, by the way). Can I just keep expanding, hardware-wise, or do I need to move over all the data to a new location, lets say. I know that both are possible, but I am not sure how this would work, especially as far as pricing, which needs to be relatively low (the cheaper, the better).

Another thing that I am not sure about with this, still, is clips. How would you go about getting them? I was going to look at sites like xBabe.com, or DansMovies, lets say, and see what they do.

How much would you estimate I could make from 100,000 people a day to the site. All ads and other sources of income setup correctly, things like that... It is a lot of work too, I know that there is 20+ full time employees working on PornHub.com.

Is it just you? Are you new at this game? Because if you are, just uploading 100 TB clips to a server, drive traffic to it and expect to make money will prove fatal for your wallet.

100TB is a lot of data, and when you get traffic you will see how fast your burn your bandwith.

It would be just me working on it. I am not new to it at all, but I've never really worked on a real tube (I had a Smart Tube Pro site, 5+ years ago). Website obviously needs to be hosted somewhere, and I am wondering what would be the best way to do it, and be able to expand too. I want to learn all the needed things as far as hosting, server administration, and all other things like that (up to 12 months of edu, if needed, I want to learn all this).

There is also this company from Las Vegas, NV, which offers video clips for xxx sites. I dont remember the name right now, and I did not really look for it in google.com. I think they have some sort of system / software, which works with Mech Bunny, and Mech Bunny script is what I would like to use.

Mech Bunny has that one admin - multiple tube websites module, which is what I would be planning to get. Then possibly go in the direction of combining it with Trade Pulse, add these videos to my own SmartCj.com sites, or connect it with a Pintastic xxx pinboard site. Also, possibly embed these videos on Wordpress blogs (1 central admin with videos, and multiple used on different types of xxx sites). All unique titles, affiliate paysite banners, things like that. Also, white label sex shop, premium video site (paid, some kind of white label could be used too), adult games, paysite offers (something like IdealGasm.com), popunder, ads from something like Exoclick, whatever would be making money for this.

You cant even figure out how to load-balance the sites, and you are thinking about getting 100-200TB spase, you may/may not need?

start small.
there are millions of porn videos you can buy, but dont buy all them at your launch.

go from 100 videos, add new videos daily, fresh , quality videos gets attention.

buy traffic from few big sites and do some other promotions.

keep doing above , and when you face issues, solve them, eg.
memory maxed out, add new memory,
cant add more memory, add new server , do load balancing.
etc. etc
and one day in near future , your site will be big.

you would need a bunch of servers with 10-20tb of space each for the vids then 1 server to start for the actual website.

Is this something that comes with MechBunny script, or does this require any other solution / software. If this can be done this way, it is a perfect way to go. I can be adding additional hosting plans, when the space runs out, this would definitely work. But would it be the correct way to do it?

The term hosting plans and what you ask about doesn`t really go hand in hand :2 cents:
You make it sound like you just add on another cheap plan and can grow a tube site to what ever size that way.
Contact some hosts (good ones) and ask them these questions. natnet, mojo, cyberwurx, isprime ect

Why don't you just start with one of those hosting plans @ $150-$300 and go from there? It will be plenty of space and capacity to get you started. Once you outgrow that server, then start making bigger plans.

Any good 100mpbs dedicated server is good for the start. Once you max out the server you buy more servers and use the multi-server function to host the videos on separate servers.

Ok, so with Mech Bunny, I will be able to do the multi-server thing, and also unlimited number of websites from one admin? This would mean, I can have 10 separate dedicated plans, 20TB each, if needed, and then have 100 different sites, based on any of the videos in the database? This is just theoretically, as I am not seeing having 50 or 100 TB of videos anytime soon (but, in general, I would like to know, how this would work). Also, is something like this the best way to go?

btw, I would try smaller servers...
if one goes down for some reason u still have the others and bandwidth is dedicated for each independent server so...

for autentication... if need any u can use mod_auth_token...
same key on the servers and SAME ATOMIC time on each server should do the work...

Adult video sites are risky business from my past experience (maybe 5-6 years ago when bandwidth was a lot more expensive) due to the massive bandwidth usage and less conversions.

You might start with a budget servers from hosts such as OVH and Hetzner. However, Hetzner does not allow adult AFAIK and I am not sure about OVH. But you definitely need to find budget servers with possibly unmetered bandwidth for you to make good money.

Hetzner has traffic limit I guess

30 TB on 1 Gbit/s-Port with 200 Mbit/s guaranteed and then 10 Mbps if I remember correctly. So, yes in a way 30 TB is the bandwidth per server.

But then again Hetzner does not allow adult AFAIK and so, the site might not last long. They also have some strict identity verification rules due to which are relatively spammer free too.
