For the metrically impaired that's 122 degrees.
With their humidity, that is beyond uncomfortable. |
i guess they never heard of air conditioning.

We had one day at 40C last week - I thought I was going to die - 50C for a few a days is bad...

Did anyone see Vice over the weekend? As if 50c temperatures aren't enough, they also have a terrible clean water shortage with something like 1 toilet per 200 people. What a terrible condition for those poor people to be living in.

Heat caused deaths have been bad in the US also over the years
http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/ima...ample-2014.png It wasn't that hot in the Chicago area in 1995 and 500 died -- 350+- over the daily average. |
800 dead now.
Unbelievable. |
Poor folks damn :(
Any way we can help? Maybe start an ice bucket challenge movement online raising money to send them slushies or someting? |
Might see a few more bodies than usual floating down the Ganges and its tributaries.

It's not the first time we getting this much heat in India. March, April, May and June are the hottest month for India. Death tools always rise in India because of heath strokes and poor people living in open air. If any of you planning to travel to India, its a advice not to travel to India in the mentioned months. July is ok because from July MONSOON started and much better weather...

el nino. the good news is this could spell the end of the drought in the USA, just as it is proofing in Texas and Oklahoma. the drought in tx and ok is now over and we have el nino to thank for that.

Most AC systems would only be able to put that down to about 100 degrees from 122 degrees. Typically they can only cool the air about 20 degrees. Over time they can do more as long as the rate of increase (from outside air coming in somehow) isn't higher than the rate of decrease.
So even with AC that would be extremely dangerous. |

I stand by my previous post in this tread RE viral ice bucket challenge raising funds to send shipments of slushies to our aflicted friends in India. Slushies can save lives |
We need to give them the power of the AC,,
|
the monsoon season should start in june to sept.

You know what I think?

What's pretty amazing is that 90% of the time the Monsoon will hit Kerala within a few days - It's almost to the hour...
It spreads from there - Pretty amazing..... Lets hope it isn't late!.. |
"Drought in India has resulted in tens of millions of deaths over the course of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
All such episodes of severe drought correlate with El Niņo-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) events. El Niņo-related droughts have also been implicated in periodic declines in Indian agricultural output." El Niņo in History: Storming Through the Ages : University Press of Florida |
