4 Seriously Injured in Alton Towers (UK) Rollercoaster Crash
Alton Towers: four seriously hurt in Smiler rollercoaster crash | Travel | The Guardian
Four teenagers have been seriously injured in a collision between two carriages on a high-speed rollercoaster at Alton Towers amusement park. The crash occurred on the two-year-old Smiler attraction on Tuesday afternoon, West Midlands ambulance service said. The accident involved two carriages ? one containing 16 guests and the other empty ? which came together on a low section of the track. Witnesses described hearing a sound ?like a car crash? and passengers screaming for help as they were suspended in the air. Danny Simm, a radio presenter on 96.5 Bolton FM who appears to have been at the amusement park, tweeted: ?People unconscious, knocked out. Blood everywhere. It really was shocking. Air ambulances landing now, people still stuck.? |

Because the empty car is not normally on the part of track where the crash was, at the same time as a normal full car, they collided. Heads will roll, it was clearly Alton Towers fault. |
