seemed like overkill for just a bunch of teenagers at a pool for residents. their only crime: not being residents.

Most likely because at about the 1:10 mark, as he is trying to handcuff the girl, a group rushes from his left side, and then a guy runs at him aggressively from the right side.

I know that there are cops out there that are really overzealous, but if I saw someone getting arrested, and resisting arrest, the last thing I would do is crowd the arresting officer and run up on him. I know that cops are losing respect by the day, but why would someone do that?

Actually, they were asked to leave and refused. A fight broke out. Several calls came in about a big fight going on at the pool. Wire services reporting this.

Maybe it was just a natural reaction to seeing a 14 yr old girl in a bikini attacked by an angry grown man.

People have to learn not to react when a cop body slams a 14 yr old girl on the concrete and then knees her in the back to crush her lungs.
People need more sheep-like tendencies to earn respect from the police.

One of my houses is down the street from where this happened, pretty bad.

Police wear uniforms for a reason, so that they are easily identifiable, so not buying the "natural reaction to seeing a 14 yr old girl in a bikini attacked by an angry grown man" argument.

She was clearly resisting arrest (arrest for what, we don't know since the footage doesn't show that) Maybe it was justifiable, maybe not. But it stands to reason that if you let them handcuff you, and not resist. Maybe once the situation is under control, you can reason your way out of them. That's not being a sheep, that's using common sense. You have to show respect, to get respect. Part of the issue with today's youth is that they don't respect anyone. I'm certain that 12 officers didn't show up and start grabbing people and arresting people just because they felt like it.

According to the McKinney Police

Quote:

Pool Party Incident:
On June 5, 2015 at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers from the McKinney Police Department responded to a disturbance at the Craig Ranch North Community Pool. The initial call came in as a disturbance involving multiple juveniles at the location, who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave. McKinney Police received several additional calls related to this incident advising that juveniles were now actively fighting.
First responding officers encountered a large crowd that refused to comply with police commands. Nine additional units responded to the scene. Officers were eventually able to gain control of the situation.

ahh ok. I still don't get your point...

The cop was an asshole because he lost his cool and then lost it further. You're an asshole because you see this as 'all cops are this guy'.

Also, if you run at a cop HE WILL DRAW ON YOU, asshole or not. Did they have a right to be angry at his reaction? Of course. It pissed me off too, but you wont catch me running at a damn armed cop because I don't think getting shot makes sense--but that's just me.

Sly 06-08-2015 11:25 AM

Did we get Obama's opinion yet?

From what I have read so far, black girl (neighborhood resident) had a pool party at the community pool, white lady did not like said pool party and said lots of things she shouldn't have said, then used her hands in ways that she shouldn't have used them. Fight broke out. Police were called. Another fight broke out. All hell ensued.

Deep down I think white lady was jealous of this rack (it's okay, she's 19!):

They were listening to the cops. That bikini girl was already walking away when the cop decided to grab her. I think she was saying something and the cop blew his top.

i tend to agree. a couple points though- she is very young, like 14. if the first reaction of a child when the cops arrive is to scramble and run away, then the problem is the cops have an identity crisis, they've created an atmosphere of fear, even in children and that's wrong of them, not children.

Well it all looked fucked up, but for a police officer or any grown up to throw a 14 year old tiny girl to the ground with such force was uncalled for. That cop with the stripes on his arm was being a mean SOB in my opinion. Sometimes that is warranted but this time it wasn't.
Not trying to stir shit up but also if the kids showed respect as others have pointed out I doubt it would of gotten this far out of control! People and kids need to learn that shit man, Just because you're black or asian or white or what ever color you are it don't give you any right to be disrespectful to a police officer.

Yes I see there are problems with race in the police dept I see several white racist police officers and I have seen several raciest black police officers. As I was taught growing up, show respect to earn respect. Always respect a police officer even if they are in the wrong, take it to court, don't stand there and argue your point to a police officer. If you have video even better when you go to court.

Stop thinking every cop is out to get you or every young black person is a thug or out to commit a crime and this shit would not be as bad as it is. Again just me thinking.

This is what the police were responding to.

A conflict between one of the resident mothers and a non resident girl.

What this POS cop did to this young girl is FUCKED UP! But these kids that ran up on a cop shouldn't get paid for shit.

My take from reading and watching other vids on this. There were like 8 cops at the scene when this happened. 7 other cops were being polite and talking to the kids. This SHORT fat cop has issues and has to be the loudest bad cop on the scene but can't even run without falling (:1orglaugh I lold so hard at that). This cop was yelling profanities at young teen girls. If he really wanted to detain this annoying 14 yr old he could've called over another officer to cuff her non violently. No one else would've charged in if other officers were there helping the issue not making it worse.

This cop has no biz being a cop if he can't handle a young girl better than this :2 cents:

It has nothing to do with a black thing cause 14 yr old white girls can be just as snotty these days.

All I'm saying if he wasn't violent with this girl and had another cop around him none of this would've happened. Yes he should not have pulled his gun on boys but you should never charge a power hungry cop like this either. Those boys are lucky the other cops came up and told him to put away his gun cause this unstable cop could've shot one of these kids.

Right the cop that manhandled that girl was not showing respect to the citizens from the moment he entered the scene. Do we agree on that? Show respect to get respect right?

Is there a law where citizens can legally detain a "power hungry cop" before they injure or kill a citizen? Citizens arrest? or is it "just watch your lovedone be beat, injured or murdered"?

not in good ole America in 2015. You have the right to be beat and killed by the police and one time out of ten the cop might get fired or charged with a crime.

I would agree with that. But given that the video doesn't show the lead up to that moment, and that initially there was one patrol car that showed up, and 9 more were called in to assist, we can only speculate what led to what happened in that video.
