Trying to find something in mainstream which pays out like adult rebills did in the mid 2000s.

Finding that drive, hunger and motivation again. That drive that made me lose track of time, work 18 hr days and realize I forgot to eat that day because I was so engrossed in what I was doing.

sonofsam 07-04-2015 11:08 AM

Dealing with government red tape and consulting companies to get around all the regulation of the business I'm starting

Just to meet government requirements in building codes will probably be 6 figures

Shap you should start a new business. You're clearly not cut out for retirement and have that entrepreneur itch to always be working on something

You and me both. I'm with you on that one. From 1998 to 2008 I could out work anyone.

Thanks! That's kind. The guy who posted just before you said it well. I think the key with me is i'm an all in or all out type of guy. Until I'm all in again I'll be searching for that thing that could do it. I think the key for me is momentum and speed. I love free flowing ideas and making them happen. I hate the paperwork, procedures and planning required to really do it right.

I'm the exact same way, and that stuff makes me feel overwhelmed and like there are always 300 things I don't want to do, but have to be done, which makes me lose drive

What works for that is bringing someone on you can delegate that stuff to, do you can focus on the stuff you're good at an actually enjoy. Makes the whole process more fun :2 cents:

That's what operations people are for. Every successful team I've seen has the idea person who goes balls out, as well as the operations person to make sure all of the i's are dotted and t's are crossed.

That is why VCs always want a founding team with the different personality types. Usually the dreamer, the anal retentive one, and the engineer.

Honestly I got out of online marketing for quite sometime so it's sort of like starting fresh again.

I've done a bit of drop shipping stuff from China and also been doing ok selling from Amazon.. However it's always feast or fathom.

I hate that everything has to be a new sale and really not big percentage sales like adult which was the $30-50 dollar single sales or rebills.

I know there is good money in mainstream but seems anything similar to adult is always shady stuff or ppc.

I used to do good with selling themes, but I've been out of that a while and not sure how that market is these days with everyone having Facebook pages and so on.

I really hate to get back into adult, but seems cams is likely the only place to get those re bills and big pps again.

The long term outlook for that isn't great, not the ideal business choice if you want a growing business over the next 5 years.

Depression was a bitch for a while and lost my lack of motivation...
Motivation is back now, though, and so are sales! Out of the ghetto and back in a house with a nice new Mercedes now and nothing but up from here. :upsidedow
(If I owe anyone work, email me and I'll make it right this week)

Hey JT, sorry about all that, hope retirement is going well. :thumbsup

Story of my life for 15 years. As long as you are pushing in the right direction that's the key. I think the other key is scaling as fast as you can when you strike gold. That's important!

Right now my biggest business struggle is trusting others in business.

Over the last 15 years I've given ideas to people I've personally worked with in the industry (not so much online) and things worked out great for them. A good few years of income, both of the really successful ones kind of puddled out slowly over time, as a lot of things do. I have a few close people I've known for years that I trust.

But what I've been focussed in on like a laser the last last month now, none of them can help with as it's a small programming glitch in a software solution for adult. I've put 2 things together that nobody has thought of, and a little bit of code is getting in the way of them working perfectly together, creating the final solution. Fully open source license, all clear. The bit of code I need made, or will create myself, will not be open source.

I'm afraid that if I get a freelancer they will put 2 & 2 together and run with it. My biggest struggle right now is trusting others.

The second struggle I'm seeing ahead, is implementing it in such a way that it gains traction before being copied by others that clearly don't have the best interest of our industry / community at heart. I'm not that guy that has those connections. While it will make a ton of money and turn things around for many people, and I have the enthusiastic support of my biller (NDA), I want it to go right and fly into what it's meant to be, not being stifled by my lack of connections.

Aside from that life is great and Happy 4th of July everybody !! :-D

Pushing in the right direction and seeing this pay back in positive results is what I thrive on. The last 1.5 years here at payserve has been a great learning experience being at the other side of the fence.

We've been working hard on being able to scale things up easily the last year. So yeah we're working on things.

Another struggle is not having more people within the company with a vision.

This was one of the areas I was looking into.. I've been reading up on writing books for Amazon, but I just saw they drastically cut their book borrow program. It seems a lot of guys were depending on that for the bulk of their income on Amazon.

The Porn Nerd 07-04-2015 01:38 PM

The only real struggle for me is getting to that next level of sales where I can hire a full-time manager. There are many, many projects I want to focus on but need the cash flow to do so. Fortunately I have a proven business model so it's rather easy to calculate what that magic # of daily sales needs to be. Soin the end all I need is....more traffic.

This is what keeps me motivated working like a dog seven days a week (and on a Holiday too, editing anal interracial videos LOL). But I am extremely close to that magic sales volume number so I see nothing but major changes and more revenue ahead. I'm a fairly happy fellow. :)

NaughtyEmails 07-04-2015 01:39 PM

Honestly...painful boners.

I'm not used to watching porn in a professional context. But alas, I've just got to champ through it. :D

For me, it's cash.
I have built my business on buying out other's established sites, mostly.
I have made many deals and many who chose to quit have sold to me. This year I have seen an increase of people wanting/needing to get out and have bought a few profitable sites and similar, but now I am short on cash to move on at the same speed. I will now have to wait and slow down a bit, so earnings catch up for the next, upcoming, yet unknown investment.

CPA-Rush 07-04-2015 03:38 PM

femdomdestiny 07-04-2015 04:35 PM

After almost three years of developing mainstream product and after finally launching it few months ago, struggle is to inform enough people about it, because partners are not doing it, even if we had a deal. There is no way to force them to do what it takes what resulted in 10x less sales. So if a plan was to do something in one year, now it takes 10 years with this rate (disaster).

My advice would be to not "look for that thing" but to rather spend your time really understanding what it is that you really enjoy doing, what makes you happy, what you could do 18 hrs a day and wish you had more time in the day.

Without really understanding and defining what what you truly love and what makes you truly happy, everything seems kinda interesting in the moment and you have no real framework to guide your decisions, your thoughts and to really help you effectively determine if that's the thing you could do 18 hrs a day, loving every second of it... or not.

Start a business doing something you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life... or something along those lines.

Waiting for money to advertise for mainstream affiliates, then launching full out. After launch, getting geared up for next project to run at the same time.

Other than that, stressing about getting everything ready for the wedding!

Ehhh
Most writers of short stories lost 75-90% of there income from this month.
(after amazon decided to cut the borrows and pay per page read).
So, it's not going to be this way anymore.
