Timecard/work report software? Which to use?

Anybody here use worker-initiated fixed price project time card software?

Seems like there are a ton of options for automated hourly tracking.

I'd like something more useful than email or Google Docs for contractors to turn in reports of their work for a pay period. Like reporting number of posts formatted or images processed or photo shoots completed, that sort of thing. Basically pay-by-the-job and not pay per hour. What do you all like for this?

Ideal solution would be reasonably priced for a couple hundred contractor accounts and not give contractors visibility to other workers work reports.

Best Time and Attendance Software and Systems - 2015

I just searched what you said 'worker-initiated fixed price project time card software' Amelia. Seems it is often used -- what the choices are IDK. We use collaborative software but it is for employee access and there is conversational interchange. Ticketing and work assignment as well as subject discussion among work groups.

For the remote workers I hired at FreeOnes, I made an excel sheet (use it myself now to track my work). You can customize tasks and then choose them when you log hours.

Total hours for each task as well as overall time show up in its own block.

Not sure if it's useful, but if you want to take a look mail me and I'll send you over a copy.

I use Timetrack (free). But I don't know about that price calculation thing as I use it to measure just time.

The two issues I am running into are:

(1) we often pay by the project, rather than by the hour.
(2) I need like 200 people to be able to enter their info.

Well, check out that mentioned Timetrack. I don't know the limits if there are any, as I use it just to track my time, but at least there is some talk about team stuff.

timetrack - time tracking, application, desktop, mobile, reporting

Here is about price:

Free of charge

With 10 or less projects, users and scheduled reports the use of timetrack service is free of charge.

"Charged

From 11 projects, users and scheduled reports we ask a contribution:

€ 0,20 per registered User
€ 0,10 per registered Project
€ 0,35 per registered Report

Below a few examples

• 1 project and 7 users - free of charge
• 5 projects and 3 users and a monthly scheduled report - still free of charge
• 25 projects and 10 users - € 4,50"

So, 200 users would make 40 euros user wise.

The thing is that I just want people to submit what they did, not how many hours it took them to do. Does that make sense? I'm not sure what the terminology for this would be.

Sounds to me like you could just make a spreadsheet form template.

Title it: [payment period] Work Report

Project Name|Tasks Completed|Contracted Price|Invoiced Amount

Maybe a little more complex to suit your needs. You said hundreds of people and I assumed you meant simultaneously and not cumulatively. A spreadsheet might be the simplest user interface then you could manually input the data into a MySQL database for record keeping. You just need a database.table design and someone that knows mysqlmonitor CLI or phpMyAdmin.

You could get someone to script this with a web form and a PHP / MySQL back-end this would be a trivial task and I am sure there is no shortage of developer/coders around here to do this.

I think you could find a script already made and just do some revisions and customization then run it on your own servers.

I think you are right that this is a pretty easy custom job. I'm just really surprised it doesn't already exist.

Yes, simultaneously, which is why ten bucks a seat for something where I have to use a workaround doesn't work.
