Netflix Gold - Matastasis

Metástasis is a Colombian, Spanish-language shot-for-shot remake of the U.S. crime drama Breaking Bad. It tells the story of Walter Blanco.

I'm am about half way through the episodes they've released so far, and it's pretty nutty. Identical, but not quite the same. Especially from a production standpoint.

I put this on and feel compelled to keep watching because of how good breaking bad is but then I realize how awful this show is and how totally bankrupt of creativity it is so I shut it off.

You know how it all plays out. I am more fascinated by differences in the two productions. They definitely know how to be creative with much less money put into this particular production.

The point of it is that it's a different take on the same material. That's what I think is cool, anyhow.

Yea Netflix has been buying up Spanish drug focused TV shows with English subs. I don't watch TV where I have to read the script, but I recently watched all 74 episodes of Pablo Escobar, el patron mal. It was pretty good and I actually picked up a little Spanish. si?

I'm currently watching elCartel. The acting is not as good as the Pablo Escobar was, but many of the same actors from Escobar are in this one including Pablo himself playing some other character. There are 57 episode. I have already picked up another Spanish word. Hola.

Maybe by time I get done watching elCartel and about 4 other ones Netflix recently added, I might be able to string a whole sentence together in Spanish :)

Looks awful ...

It really isn't, if you take it for what it is.

I'm into television production, so it's very interesting to me to see how they accomplish their goal and that is to do a shot for shot, Spanish language adaptation of the original series for much less money in Columbia.
