It's official, I'm old.
 

I'm 65 today, so say Happy Birthday, and now officially a pensioner and on benefits.

Received a letter yesterday from the Czech Benefits Office, and I'm getting the princely sum of 4,000 CZK a month, that's $170. How anyone lives on that is beyond me.

On the plus side, 6 years a cancer survivor and not doing too bad.

It's even worse here. I will be paying $300/month into a mandatory retirement fund for the next 37 years, and then will get $120/month for the next 5 i might live after that :thumbsup

We just had a few days in Poland. Lots of great looking girls.

As for pensions, I put a lot into private ones over the years. Been enjoying the rewards for the last 6 years. The new top up from the UK pensions will be nice.

It would be impossible. Been on a fixed income for 4 years now, and always a bit of a miser, so the UK-CZ pensions will be a nice little boost.

I've been chatting to a lot of my old mates in the UK, some don't have a pot to piss in thinking the gravy train would never stop. And some wiser folks, put money aside and doing OK in retirement.

I advise all making a bit of dosh, invest in long term sound investments.

We went to Wroclaw, we wanted to go to Krakow as well. It pissed down non stop all the trip there, forecast said it was going to be the same for the next two days.

Last year when I could share the driving we went to Italy, where it also pissed down and ruined the holiday.

So we came home. Planning to do a last minute booking to Krakow late September, if the weather's good. Will see if we can get a 5 start or good 4 star that allow dogs, booked at the last minute. Who wouldn't love him?
