Who here switched to Chrome from Firefox ?

i have recently upgraded my PC.

but firefox still stucks/goes unresponsive while browsing, for no specific reason.,
i have enough 16 gegs RAM . , SSD , 2GB GPU.

i tried chrome and its smooth as fuck.

so i would like to know who, here switched to chrome completely ? and are happy with the decision , i mean not missing anything specific to firefox ?

Thanks for your time.

i am web developer, so i use web developer addon mostly , and not much.

what are your thoughts.

wehateporn 08-26-2015 06:19 PM

Still on Firefox

went to pale moon

Up until the last Firefox update, I was pretty much 100% Firefox unless I was developing and testing in browsers. But after the update, I've found myself using Chrome more and more every day. FF has been freezing up and forget about trying to run anything Flash -- doesn't support it anymore. The web developer tools and Firebug are what originally sold me on FF, but now working with Chrome and their developer's tools, FF doesn't have the upper hand anymore.

Honestly, it's just a matter of time before I toss out Firefox. It's gotten too bloated, freezes a lot, and taxes the shit out of my system while just browsing.

Browsers

Safari makes IE almost good. Try as I might, I can't get Safari to open PDF files.

I don't see much difference between Firefox or Chrome. But I use Firefox. When you open Chrome it shows the last few sites you visited. That can be embarrassing.

Sly 08-26-2015 07:35 PM

Yes, seven years ago.

J. Falcon 08-26-2015 07:39 PM

I'm trying to make the switch but it's a gradual process. I've been using Firefox for many years and it's hard to let go. Not sure if it happens to a lot of people, but for me it takes time. Got tired of FF crashing and fucking up.

Exactly where I'm at. I'm not good at coping with change. :upsidedow

Yes, some years ago (3? 4? 5?). Really like Chrome, though it has a few quirks.

Rochard 08-26-2015 08:55 PM

I've been using only Chrome for the past three or four years, no issues. I need a browser, not bells and whistles; I use one extension and that's it. I have FF and Chrome and I guess now "edge and I don't really have problems with them either, but then again, I have a pretty beefed up system.

charlie g 08-26-2015 08:58 PM

for me chrome is just more stable. I still fire up FF to check how a site will look to ff users, but I use chrome.

Barry-xlovecam 08-26-2015 09:49 PM

I think it is something os specific with Firefox. I have the same version (40) on two different Ubuntu systems and only one crashes ?

Chrome is a Google hack -- I use it but not for certain security oriented business applications. Calling home to ET (i.e.; Google) bothers me. It is fine for credit card transactions or internet banking it is just when doing investigations of Google SEO practices I don't trust the Google Hack Browser :2 cents:

Basically what he said, but I have several browsers on each of my computers, and mis it up when doing web development and such.

Best-In-BC 08-26-2015 10:52 PM

Firefox has always been trash IMO

lezinterracial 08-26-2015 11:11 PM

I usually use chrome. Still use Firefox though when I want to use some of their extensions. When it is a site that has browser locking pop-ups, I use no-scripts.

Just got through using FF with tamperdata to do some checks on some of my SQL, I just added.

Well said.......

I must the most out of date here. I switched to Firefox from IE only a few weeks ago - Firefox is much better. Can't believe I put up with IE for so many years :1orglaugh

For once we agree on something :thumbsup

Google said chrome wouldn't collect any data but as soon as you log in any google site it logs you into chrome, and collects more data than the worst spyware around. time on site. bounce rates etc. People get paranoid about win10 because data could be used by the NSA as a webmaster I don't give a fuck about the NSA. I do care about these google pricks collecting data even within my members area when I don't remember giving them authorization.

Why many still have a sympathetic view of this company and their products when they pull more crap than MS and Apple put together is beyond me.

bns666 08-27-2015 02:47 AM

i use both :thumbsup

PaperstreetWinston 08-27-2015 02:51 AM

I use both to access 2 accounts side by side in one prog. would only use ff if only one's needed ;) chrome sucks

Petra 08-27-2015 05:22 AM

I use both browsers quite a bit since I need to be logged into different accounts on the same site. BUT...this last update did something to Firefox and as others said, it just goes unresponsive or crashes. ;-\

The same here. I'm not a terrorist so I don't give a shit about NSA. But as a person who earns with SEO, I don't like when Google sticks its nose up to my business and literally spaying on on me.

BlackCrayon 08-27-2015 06:11 AM

try pale moon. its a stripped down version firefox.

michael.kickass 08-27-2015 06:59 AM

I use both. I've become used to using more than one browser.

TheLegacy 08-27-2015 10:20 AM

Chrome for me - faster and easier than FF

j3rkules 08-27-2015 10:23 AM

Firefox has spyware features too. All major browsers do.

poncabare 08-27-2015 01:45 PM

since 2009

MrGusMuller 08-27-2015 01:46 PM

I did. Back in 2009.

Choopa Phil 08-27-2015 02:34 PM

Chrome all the way! I switched maybe 2 or 3 years ago and havent looked back. Runs so much smoother on both PC and MAC

2MuchMark 08-27-2015 08:11 PM

I tend to prefer the browser that is native to the OS. So IE for Windows, or Safari for Mac. If you're building sites, you really want to have all 4 of the most popular browsers handy to see how your site looks and works with each.

ErectMedia 08-27-2015 09:33 PM

Ditched firefox for chrome quite a while ago. I keep the common browsers installed just to check cross browser compatibility. :2 cents:
