Do you get the Flu shot?
I've never gotten a flu shot but I'm thinking about it this year.
They say that last year the flu shot was only 20% effective but they have modified the vaccine to match the virus now. My current flu prevention method of avoiding all human contact gets boring. I mean, if all the liquor stores are closed then I have to go to a bar. :1orglaugh |

I have never had the flu. I have never had a flu shot. I will never get one. My aunt was sick for 2 months after getting the shot.

if you're healthy and such, why bother really. it's only like a 12% chance of getting the flu, and that's if your social, much less if you're anti-social.
on the other hand, what's the difference. it's only like $22 @ walgreens. bing bang in and out. |

They recently sent a letter asking for authorisation to vaccinate my 6 year old daughter for the flu.
I tried to object, I have never had flu, my wife has never had flu and no one we know has ever had flu ( we have been poorly, had a cold, fever, etc etc but not something that could kill us or immediate family). Anyway my wife said "well if everyone else is getting it done" I just rolled my eyes and signed the damn form. |
If you get a flu shot; You deserve to get a flu shot :2 cents:

Credibility of flu models disputed Flu deaths reality check - Health - CBC News "One model counts all respiratory and circulatory deaths — that's death from heart and lung failure — as flu deaths. "As an upper limit, they are looking at everybody who died of a heart and lung problem," Gardam said. "So you could imagine this could include people who died of a heart attack that had nothing to do with flu, but the feeling is that anybody who died of flu should be captured in there, plus a lot of other people." At the lower end of that model they count the number of deaths officially listed as "influenza" on the death certificate, plus all deaths from pneumonia — even though not all pneumonia is caused by flu." |

Dr Said Twitter would you like a flu vaccine
Twitter says, No Thank You! |
I used to get it like clockwork every year and I would also get the flu every year. I just assumed it would have been worse without it. Then I missed it one year and didn't get the flu. I haven't gotten it since. In the roughly 18 years since I have stopped getting it I have had the flu 2-3 times. Beats the hell out of every year so I will continue to skip it.

Never get the flu, only a cold a few times a year

Fuck no...I won't go into details as to why, but fuck no!

Got my shot yesterday... my upper arm still hurts a bit from it.

Each time I got the shot - I came down with the flu. Yeah, perhaps a milder version than if I hadn't been vaccinated. But like you, when I skipped a few years and went without, I got no flu. I have nothing against the flu shot - I just got pre-occupied and didn't get around to getting it. And never regretted it. Tons of people I know did get the shot...with no real detrimental side effects. |
I had my first ever flu jab a week ago today. So far I have not had flu yet so it must work :)
|
I have never. I just really don't get sick like that. I remember once when I was 7. other than that, I've had the occasional cold and that was it.
|
NEVER.
its not like yellow fever, typhoid or hepatitis - something to get vaccinated for. not neccessary at all, risky and completely useless. |

Based on this thread, I think I'm going to just skip it this time too.

Many people get a bad cold and assume it's the flu. flu is extremely rare.
|
if you are a healthy adult and still get flu shots, you are retarded.
|
I get a flu shot every year. I believe in modern medicine. It's your choice about a flu shot, but why stop there? Don't get any vaccinations like for mumps, chicken pox or polio. Be part of the group of shit heels too stupid to walk upright and get your DNA killed off as soon as possible.. Dumb fucks.

Very the past 10 years we have kept track of this at NETbilling. We have 48 employees.
We advocate and even pay for our employees to get flu shots if they want them and their insurance won't cover the cost. Out of the 30 or so employees that have gotten the flu during that time (obviously we have turnover and not everyone gets one each year, only one had a flu shot. None of the others got the flu that did get the shot. Seems to me that the flu shots are usually very effective, can help prevent you from getting extremely ill, take only minutes to administer, and are covered by insurance. Mitch |

You sound very sure of yourself but once you skip a year you will think 'why in the fuck have i been taking those shots for'. |

I have personally nursed many extremely sick people with flu that are otherwise healthy - I KNOW what it is like - I have seen what it can do - I did'nt Google a few pages and call it 'research'..... I have no problem with the other stuff WHP posts - However, he needs to shut up on heath issues - He is dangerous... |
Not a chance; I don't want to tempt fate.

If a real doctor or scientist were to come across this thread and read the incredible amount of disinformation in here, he would shoot himself or herself in the head.
For fuck sakes people: Get a flu shot. And for extra fucking sakes - get your kids vaccinated. |
That's your opinion.I don't believe in it at all
