Looks like Canada's fucked

CTV is now projecting a Liberal win - get ready for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

We're fucked. :Oh crap

Phoenix 10-19-2015 07:02 PM

Was there any doubt? With his name he could have showed up to enter the race the week before and won.

SilentKnight 10-19-2015 07:11 PM

And now...the Trudeau dynasty continues...

Quote:

While close to 45,000 Canadians died for freedom in Canada during the Second World War, Justin's father Pierre Elliott Trudeau was busy draft-dodging and cavorting around Montreal in German apparel. He campaigned bitterly against conscription during the war years.
Quote:

After the war he studied in London under Harold Laski, Britain's leading leftist guru. In 1950 he visited Moscow under the auspices of a communist-front group. He was mildly critical of some of the things that were going on there but never denounced the worst dictatorship on earth, outside of China. Later, as prime minister, he visited the USSR's far north, sang the praises of a city that had been build on dead men's bones, and in the same breath criticized the U.S.
Mark my words - this shallow simpleton isn't ready to lead Canada in the right direction.

Likewise, but I'm staying in hopes he now legalizes weed. Trudeau that is. Either way, things needed spicing up.

Free loading losers.

SilentKnight 10-19-2015 07:50 PM

Well, unless Kansas City mounts a comeback...we can take a little solace that at least our Blue Jays are winning tonight.

BlackCrayon 10-19-2015 07:52 PM

the conservatives fucked themselves with their ultra negative campaigning. i liked a lot of things about harper but with each mandate they got more smug and pushed further to right and alienated a lot of people. i didn't want trudeau to be PM but after 10 years and constant fear mongering during the campaign, the outcome became obvious.

SilentKnight 10-19-2015 07:53 PM

Liberal Trudeau at the fed level...and Kathleen Wynne ruining Ontario at the provincial level.

Get ready for a LONG four years, my fellow Canucks.

SilentKnight 10-19-2015 07:55 PM

CTV now reporting Liberal majority. :Oh crap:Oh crap:Oh crap

Where were you going to move? Let's hear it. Because there are countless countries looking to import unsuccessful webmasters.

Canada is full of idiots. 0 business sense in the entire country.

The only real boom was COMPLETELY driven by commodities and that is now gone. Once Iran floods the oil markets you're going to see a Canadian economy (which already has) take a nose dive beyond an unimaginable scale.

Wait until Trudeau takes on an insane amount of debt to keep the French idiots happy because Alberta can't foot the bill anymore. This is going to be funny!

Really?

And Chretien made our military look competent going into Afghanistan on borrowed transport, exchanging boots with incoming/outgoing troops - and fucking khaki green combat uniforms.

Not to mention all other gear and support was pathetically underfunded.

Yep...the Conservatives really made us look incompetent. :error

Just wait till you see the levels of REAL incompetence with the Trudeau regime. But don't worry...the "budget will balance itself."

Oh, and say bye-bye to income splitting. But fire up a blunt with Justin and everything will work out fine.

Liberals, under Chretien and Martin were actually doing surplus, paying back the deficit ...

Here is what your fiscal genious did, during the oil boom and while robbing the unemployment drawer :

Quote:

After producing a surplus in 2007-08 of $9.6 billion, the Harper government delivered a deficit of $5.8 billion in 2008-09 during the global recession.

In subsequent years, his Conservative governments generated shortfalls of $55.6 billion in 2009-10; $33.4 billion in 2010-11; $26.3 billion in 2011-12; $18.4 billion for 2012-13; and $5.2 billion for 2013-14.

To summarize, Harper-led governments ran a string of six straight deficits between 2008-09 and 2013-14.
Heck of a job, Steevie !!!! :thumbsup

Barry-xlovecam 10-19-2015 09:18 PM

The Canadian Dollar is worth $0.77 US now.
Could a Trudeau do worse than Harper?

Good luck ...

No not at all - this is a good day. Stephen Harper has been in power for almost 10 years and he's really fucked things up. I'm really glad to see him go. While Justin may be pretty young and a little inexperienced, the Liberal party is a much, much better party to run Canada than the conservatives ever were. I just hope he can undo all of the damaged caused and make Canada cool again.

Congrats Justin!

Congrats to PM Trudeau! Not only does Canada finally have a majority government, but relations with many other countries will improve now that the ass-clown Harper is on his way out. It's time for something fresh and Justin will do a better job at stimulating the economy than his deficit-creating predecessor.

Whether you like his father or not, he was very well respected by other global leaders and one of the most popular/recognizable PMs the country had in the last 50 years. Just the amount of campaigning the Liberals (and NDP) did to encourage people, especially youth, to vote speaks volumes for the kind of changes Canadians can expect.

Although I did not vote, I was very happy with the results. I was expecting a coalition between a minority Liberal gov't and the NDP, but this is even better. I hope to see the NDP grow further and eventually take the number 2 spot in coming years.

You left out the part about his mother being a manic depressive drug fiend. She also gave up the nappy dugout to Ted Kennedy and Ronnie Wood.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Trudeau

It looks like you Loons just elected a leader with a strong genetic history of bipolar disorder. It's a good thing your country doesn't have to do much other than try to swim in the wake of the United States.

Any Americans in here talking shit can gtfo. America is currently being run by a socialist.

Canada will be fine. If Harper had the choice he would have us just merge with America. Glad to see him go.

nothing, it's just canadians tend to become drama queens when it comes to elections despite all 3 major party platforms being near identical..

Our country has been in a small slump over the last 3 or 4 years and we need someone else at the wheel for a while, nothing more than that.

Why has the economy been in a slump?

Maybe because its commodity based? And Canadians are all sociliast losers so there is no point in investing in the country?

Tough times ahead. Wait until oil drops further. You people are clueless.

the ndp had the number 2 spot but now lost it. the only reason they got it is because quebec voted for them. they voted liberal instead this time. of course the ndp are just socialists with a fancy name.

well, hypothetically, if you had the money to buy a political party and get them into power to take over a country, in order to ram through a bunch of pipelines and remove a bunch of environmental protections, would you spend enough money for just one party?

or would you also buy out the 'speaker for hire / i love chinese dictatorships" political opposition leader as a little insurance?

i would, and that is what is wrong with the liberals.
