Facebook 20% Text Rule

Oh my God this is pissing me off so much.
I created an advert in publisher for a couple of Christmas parties.
I created the image and uploaded to Facebook.

Facebook say the image has to much text.

I have a lot to say..

I tried bypassing by Uploading to imgur then I tried inserting the url into the post but nothing works.

Stupid Facebook.

they are trying to help you out.. People don't want to read a lot of text on a ad. By putting a paragraph on a image ad you are losing 90% of your potential customers :2 cents:

My experience has been that image ads convert best on Facebook if there is no text on the image. If you get your targeting right (that's a whole other subject) then most of your "advertising susceptible" audience will click out of curiosity.

You'll get the best results if you make sure you use re-targeting (which is also a whole other subject).

In practice, if you're not sure of what you're doing with Facebook ads then you are likely to lose money.

Ok, I have an A4 size piece of paper i need to include logo, dates (2) , activities, rules, prices etc.

I can't get that into 20%

On the ad you only need the

logo, dates (2) , activity
The other info you put on the page you are advertising and if the image is for a biz fb and the image is the ad then put the other info in text for description.

You put the full text of your offer on the destination page, be it on a Facebook Page or an external Landing page.

So you could have a picture, with even just a little text like 'Don't miss the greatest event this Xmas' that leads when clicked to a landing page with event details and a call to action to book.

Good point re-targeting. That's what makes FB ads pay off. Make sure the retarget goes to a deeper page in the know-like-trust buying process/cycle though.

have a landing page - if you don't have a landing page - use the complete information image on Imgur and use the imgur link as landing page - for facebook ad - use less than 20% text image and run the campaign.

I prefer no text at all. One of my campaign for $40 - gave around 15,000 clicks. ( the targeted campaign was third world countries )
