you must have been on another planet in 2015, all of these were certainly more overrated

avengers: age of ultron

jurassic world

trainwreck

ant man

spy

nico-t 12-02-2015 10:03 AM

all i can say is taste is subjective... personally it was one of the worst movies i've seen this year, boring and completely forgettable.

baddog 12-02-2015 10:10 AM

I guess I haven't missed anything by not going to the movies

J. Falcon 12-02-2015 10:12 AM

That just means new movies as a whole suck more.

dyna mo 12-02-2015 10:15 AM

ahahahahah.

making excuses for not being able to kick back for an hour and half.

movies today aren't good enough for you to relax. why so serious? movie snobbery.

brassmonkey 12-02-2015 10:21 AM

judges paid! :thumbsup:thumbsup movie was bullshit! :2 cents::2 cents:

georgeyw 12-02-2015 10:26 AM

ahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa

How many dicks did George Miller suck to get that or were the other movies so bad that this was the least steaming pile of shit?

The comments say it best

Quote:

That’s just crazy. Mad Max was a two hour music video at best….its plot had more holes than a golf course
Quote:

Were they joking? This was perhaps the WORST movie I’ve ever had the displeasure to see.
Quote:

Lolwut? The whole plot was “let’s run away from that place…oh, there’s nothing here, let’s go back.” I mean, it was entertaining, but best film?
Quote:

I guess they have a different version of the one I saw on Netflix. I turned it off 1 hour into it.
Quote:

Mad Max best picture? Who makes up this board, a bunch of 12 year olds? God that movie was awful. The trailers spoiled every single action shot and the rest was just plain ignorant.
Quote:

Pass the vomit bag. I didn’t think anyone could make a bad Mad Max movie until I saw Fury Road. I love Mad Max, I love George Miller and I think Tom Hardy is a great actor. Their efforts resulted in a movie that was like a bad comic book scribbled out by an artist tripping on the world’s strongest acid.

When a movie has a tattooed and Mohawk metalhead hanging from wires in front of 12 giant speakers strapped to monster truck while playing a guitar that doubles as a flame thrower, well, if that’s considered best movie material then either those making that determination have been smoking way too much chronic or some cash changed hands. Could be both.

Fury Road was a ridiculous and pathetic mess.
Quote:

Max was the stupidest friggin’ movie of 2015. Max was a 2ndary character, should have been called Charlize going in circles.
There are more, just go read for yourself, what a joke of an award.

EDIT

Had to add just one more

Whoever chose this as best film must be on the left side of the bell curve for IQs.

regardless of whether or not you grasped the movie, the National Board of Review is a ~100 year old institution and quite distinguished.

Is there a list of the movies they selected from? I cannot seem to find it.

I am intrigued by this select group of 120 people all based in the one city.

Off the top of my head i'd say that Straight Outta Compton was far better than MM.

i thought i had seen a list somewhere, MM:FR isn't my best film of 2015. it's certainly on my list of best 2015 films though.

Ferus 12-02-2015 11:01 AM

I liked the old Mad Max movies, but Mad Max: Fury Road was just another "The Fast and the Furious" clone in a different setting. The intro and trailer was the best part of the movie.

Rob 12-02-2015 11:02 AM

I thought Fury Road was a really good movie. I enjoyed it and glad it was a successful reboot. With that said, 2015 was a pretty weak year for movies. If The Force Awakens lives up to the hype, it could salvage a pretty lackluster 2015.

i tried to sit through thunderdome recently, couldn't. the original Mad Max is good, i hadn't realized i had never really seen it, it wasn't originally released here in the USA, the Road Warrior is really the first MM film here, it's my fav, by far, the first one isn't near as compelling to watch.

nevertheless, the blue ray MM:FR is an epic watch, all the BTS stuff while being able to enjoy the visuals in the comfort of your own home on your nice rig.

very enjoyable visual story-telling.

crockett 12-02-2015 11:13 AM

The problem with Fury Road, was not that it was a bad story, plot or anything like that. It was just too fast paced to devlope any sort of feelings for the characters.. I honestly had no feelings for any of them be it good guys or bad guys. They just didn't devlope them into someone you cared about.

The scenes and filming was great and the cars were awesome but the whole make a non stop action movie kinda killed any sort of character build up.

ITraffic 12-02-2015 11:15 AM

just more garbage to feed a population dumbed down to the level of farm animals.

i disagree. i thought they created enough char dev with max by taking his blood and his car, when he yells that out in the scene, i busted out laughing. it summed it all up wonderfully in 1 single sentence and left the rest to the visuals. i thought the villian was also developed enough to make me feel creeped out by him.

and don't forget, the cars are characters in this movie too, the war rig is considered to be a main character.

Actually, the people like us who appreciate Fury Road are the movie snobs. Everyone else could be classified as "movie idiots".

bronco67 12-02-2015 12:58 PM

So, after its been nominated by the National Board of Review as best film of the year -- you just watch it get snubbed for an Oscar nomination.

adultchatpay 12-02-2015 03:58 PM

Mad Max is above average movie.

EddyTheDog 12-02-2015 04:06 PM

I saw it and then paid to see it again on the big screen...

I didn't mean so much Max or the villain, but more the rest of the sub chars. I really didn't care if any of them lived or died.

it was a good movie i enjoyed it :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

Here's hoping, wouldn't want to encourage anyone to destroy the brand further with an even worse movie.

I seem to recall a little picture call Porky's a few years back. Now that was a film!

They just don't make them like that anymore! :thumbsup

MrBottomTooth 12-02-2015 09:53 PM

I thought it was great. Tried to watch ant-man a few days ago and just had a nap instead. I'm not watching another marvel movie. Complete garbage.

Dead 12-03-2015 02:07 AM

The effort alone, in the production of the machines for the film, should be enough to push it to the top! The stunts....unfucking real!
Liked it a lot :thumbsup

EngineCash 12-03-2015 02:37 AM

This movie is good, it has great 3d effect and it is really interesting to watch, but there's no way that it is the best movie of 2015... Bad choice... :)

Paul&John 12-03-2015 03:48 AM

It was super boring ;)

Tjeerd TrafficCompany 12-03-2015 04:02 AM

I liked it!
You can't really compare it with the original ones, I see it more as a story set in the same universe than a simple reboot.

to compare it is an insult to the originals. I think george miller outsourced the script for fury road to 12 year old fans of captain america: the first avenger.

celandina 12-03-2015 10:39 AM

I loved the original ... i grew up on it... The last one??? Piece of shiiiiit...:(:2 cents:

I was entertained, all I ever want from a movie

i won't be watching thunderdome again anytime soon. :1orglaugh

why do you feel you need to link random anonymous youtubes to back up your opinion of a movie? that's what's so funny about y'all. OK, you didn't like the movie, some fat bald guy didn't like the movie along with you. are you thinking that's going to change the fact i liked the movie?

this all stems from my recommending the blue ray in a thread and movie snobs reacting to that by telling me I'm the problem with movies today, because i enjoyed MM:FR.

i couldn't care less if some stranger liked the movie or not, i do care that people blame me for their not liking movies, thus this thread.

CaptainHowdy 12-03-2015 01:11 PM

1987's ROBOCOP was much better ...

What?

The world does not revolve around you bloke, not ever sure why you think that absolutely everything is about you.

People blamed you for not liking the movie? Lost me with that one. What people?

I didn't like the movie, I enjoy banter about the movie, if you are unable to just enjoy some banter, well no worries.

how you spun my post into a world revolves around me twist is so bizarro i'm not going to waste a fucking brain cell trying to sort that high school girlfriend bullshit out.

and how you think my laughing at you for propping up your insecure views by linking a fat slob on youtube is my thinking the world revolves around me is more lack of everything/anything that makes sense by you.

i get it, you and some fat bald slob on youtube didn't like MM:FR and you need everyone to agree with you. no need to hide from that. it's very clear. embrace yourself and your fat bald slobby colleague. y'all make a good duo, why not contact him and go see a chick flick together? if you can agree on one.
