surviving shows

Hey all!

Everyone has his own method of recharging between show days.
Poll is self-explainatory. Fire away!

My stance: sleeping the party off like I should then I'm off for an easy start right before noon.

- Leave evening parties early, skip some altogether
- Cut out hard liquor or limit consumption (but if you did overindulge, drop activated charcoal and drink lots of water before bed)
- Lots of water
- Try to eat a balanced breakfast
- Rise early, hit the gym/go for a jog and sauna/steam room
- Be selective with your meetings
- Cut down on sleep hours while there, make up for it when you get back from the shows
- Make it count, but keep it light ;)

Mix and match as you see fit. It'll never be perfect, but you can aim for perfection. :thumbsup

sound advice from my dentist christian-rock bandmate :thumbsup
i follow these too, apart from the fact i try not to set any alarm unless it's imperative (early meetings, etc). water is underrated, i buy a few bottles and face the music.

Gym session and lots of water. It can be really hard to go to the gym when you feel a bit hungover but after one hour training you walk out of there feeling 10x better. Some of my best days in the gym have come when I have a hangover.

i usually get up early when i drink. so prolly workout is better choice.
but i chose . I'll just sleep on the plane on my way back. #YOLO

I don't understand the question, I attend shows to do business, which requires no survival skills at all

English is most likely not his first language, guy is just asking a fun question. Business events takes a toll on your body, up early, bed late, on your feet all day, talking to people, giving data, help, pointers on your various business. Getting information from your potential business clients, taking notes, organizing things.

well, you don't need much of a hangover cure for that (given option in the poll). I wasn't precise enough with the question. what i meant is: surviving shows when you party out at late events.

We'll see in Sitges. ;)

This. But is it supposed to be that first poll option? Asking because it has nothing to do with being slob or old, most young people sleep longer after drinking too much as well...

Same here. I read about it - alcohol does not let you sleep well, I forgot the reason.
Sometimes I sleep longer than usual, but 9 out of 10 times I wake up earlier after drink nights compared to non drink nights.

That is very bad for the reason that you suffer those few more hours awake which you could pass by sleeping if you did not wake up earlier..

Nope, it was about alcohol (see the hangover in one of the poll options).
OldJeff understood that and was just a smart ass saying that he is there for business and not for over drinking :)

Reliquary Spa was a lifesaver for me. That steamroom is magic.
