cambuilder and robot file for SE's indexation.
Hi folks,
I have read in a gfy thread that cambuilder was good for SEO. I decided to co ahead and add my white label (WL). There are indeed a few SEO options in there for page title, meta info, keywords etc ... Now I see that the robots file at the root is disallowing every pages and directories to be crawled. Upon asking support: "The robots.txt was set this way to protect the streamate brand when cambuilder was released to the public. Unfortunately I can't modify the robots.txt for cambuilder whitelabels." Does that mean I can only push traffic to my WL and I will not get organic hits? If so why all the SEO options? Why would companies do this and offer WLs? Just asking ... thanks! Happy Friday. |
Exactly... I however have an older version of streamate whitelabel, which was pushed into my cambuilder account upon request (i wish i never ask for that), but that's the only cambuilder whitelabel I have which has 39k result when searching site:mydomain.com in google...
The other huge problem with cambuilder whitelabels is that if the visitor is from a low quality country, or a coutry they don't allow, they simply display a blank page for them on single cams.. the main page works, but that's all.. I asked them if I can redirect these hits to anywhere else, but the answer was quite straight "We won't redirect users to another product/service when they click into our cam shows." So, this made me thinking if it's worth it or not... I guess it's time to move on soon! |
