What links should you disavow?

Hey everyone,

Happy weekend to you all :)

I'm working on fixing up the status on my site and have been checking out the incoming links. I've never actually done any disavowing links before so I thought I would ask first.

I've looked up and read up on what links to disavow and think I have a good idea of it but I was wondering about when SEO or domain tool type sites link to you. Should I disavow those links? I am thinking yes but I thought it would be best to check here first.

Thanks everyone,

Have a great weekend :)

I wouldn't bother disavowing those types of links. Google surely knows about them and they won't do you any harm, they're usually no-follow anyway. The ones I think you might want to look at disavowing are those spammy dating doorway type pages if you have them, I have a ton of these pointing to one site and they're mostly .xyz domains but when you try to view them they just redirect to some dating offer. They might be worth disavowing but I'm not sure yet if it's worth the effort. Google is not stupid and knows full well what a lot of these types of things are.

If you find any low quality links (spammy links, blog comments links, irrelevant links, et cetera) then update the disavow file on Google Webmaster Tools accordingly. Be careful wit this because you can remove the "good" backlinks so in the result you will lose your rankings.
