What would make a Freehost stand out?
 

Freehost users, tell me, what would you like to see on a freehost to make the service stand out from the rest? What would you sign up for?

I've been thinking about a pre-installed/hosted TGP, or:

I know freehosts are often banned because of abusive tgp submitters, what are your thoughts on checking a clients identity (by credit card), or am I going too far here? I want something unique.

What are your thoughts, but be realistic, please!

give unlimited hosting, not just 100 megs and call it unlimited, but actually no cap on the space, good transfer and no banners.

LOL, I think he wants to make a profit not a loss from running a free host.

I'm running now http://CybeHost.com and I always avoid saying things like 'unlimited'. As a webmaster I stay away from anyone offering unlimited anything, because it is not possible. I guarantee you, find a host that offers unlimited space, try and upload 50GB of movies and your account will magically dissapear.

People still use free hosts?

Very simple, unlimited bandwidth and "unlimited storage" (which could be up to 1GB of space or so in your TOS)

Absolutely no redirection of traffic (US or Foreign). I only use freehosts that emphasize this on their site.

Small header and footer for your ads, preferably text links to save download time.

Lastly, 404 errors that dont have more than 1 popup.

Thats all you need for a great free host. :thumbsup

oh, and of course a kick ass ISP backbone for your network of servers.

IMO, gimmicks work good with free hosts. If you can, somehow offer something like a free domain after "x" amount of months being a host to you, etc.
