Teenage Boy Fatally Shot During Target Practice With Dad
 

Authorities say a 15-year-old boy has died after accidentally shooting himself in the head during a target shooting session with his father in the yard of their western Pennsylvania home.

Emergency responders were called to the Allegheny Township residence Friday evening.

Police chief John Fontaine says Nicholas Ursiny apparently was trying to reload a small caliber pistol when it discharged.

He was airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital.

WTAE-TV reports ( Teen accidentally shot in head while target shooting dies | WPXI ) the medical examiner says the teen died at the hospital Sunday afternoon. An autopsy is planned on Monday.

Charges aren't expected to be filed in what Fontaine has called "a tragic accident."

I don't think I agree you. My step father taught me how to shoot a rifle when I was eight years old or so. I would guess in rural areas where hunting is a thing it would be rather common.

I look at it this way.... Once they are old enough to drive a car they are pretty much old enough to do anything. (Except smoke or drink booze.) My kid about to start driving and it freaks me out.

Sounds to me like this is a horrible accident more than anything else.

His age is not a problem, I've started a gun training when I was only 9 year old. But I did it under control of a professional trainer. This particular incident just proves that guns should not be freely sold in the States to every moron who decided he's a Rambo now.
