Just need some opinions
So here's my WL Sex Toy Haven
Can anyone spew out some valuable points of criticism? eg: Like why I might not be receiving signups/orders. I am receiving traffic, only one signup, but still no orders as of yet. Any opinions would be great. |
How do you send traffic to your whitelabel? I mean do you have any blogs, sites?

Buying traffic to hard goods is very challenging. Good luck.

logo doesn't feel confident, it actually shies away and hides in high-contrast header background.
if you look at the header, "search" and "items" stand out more than the logo, but these elements are complimentary. i would make them a bit smaller. rework whole header bg, at the very least make it flat pastel color, even light greenish may do. top menu. i would make fonts-size a bit smaller, like what "currency" has. even out "currency" vertically, so it looks in line with the rest of top menu. main menu. it looks out of place with that empty space to the right. this is really nit-picking, but centering whole main menu in that dark bg or evening out spaces between menu items may have a light positive effect on visitors. top subscribe bar. that bottom "close" button looks out of place, it is very unusual placement and messes up top menu top padding. also may confuse visitors or put some mental break within their first impression i would just put big lite X on the right side of the bar. free domestic shipping bar under header. maybe add some more padding to top and bottom? just an idea. GET 10% OFF right to the slider fix text colors there and right margin/padding or container's width Welcome to Sex Toy Haven! text. must add left and right padding so looks in line with the rest of page's "flow", e.g. in line. things like this make sites look unprofessional. I'd also make that text line at least a little larger in font-size. down below, store items. imho, too much purple, bright purple. maybe tone down saturation in "add to cart" button's bg? or even use another color, as there are plenty of purple products. also make these buttons with 2-3px rounded corners. i would also try moving these buttons to the right side of items section titles such as "FEATURED PRODUCTS" i would make that dark bg little lighter. or make bg very light and font color the opposite. "talk to us" is a bit annoying. i would hide it with small "chat" or "chat with us" side button and only pull the form when visitor clicks on it. it's too in your face with no real value to most visitors. good luck! |
also watch google analytics, see at which pages you do lose visitors if that's doable.
|
Thaaank you holograph, very much appreciated, ill take every thing into consideration.
I'm desperately trying to create a logo, but pretty sure I'm gonna get a professional to create one. I am limited to what I can do due to the WL editor restrictions, unless I use a custom stylesheet (which I just might down the road) But great tips, working on things now. Thanks again :) |
Made a better logo (Harambe I request your approval), still don't know if I like the new color scheme.
|
i think it look good.

I'm no expert, so I'm speaking 100% with my surfers hat on. Although its your site and I was just taking a look the following would apply to any kind of hard goods site I arrived on looking to make a purchase.
I didn't like the TALK TO US! box that appeared within a few seconds of my arrival. It was akin to being accosted by a sales person the second you enter a store. You want a moment to see whats what, get your bearings and look around. But no. All I see is that box and as such I shut the site straight away. Thats just a pet peeve of mine, I know, but it was way too aggressive for my tastes. YMMV of course :) |

The talk to us box annoys me as well. Im gonna send a message to the admin to remove it. Also I have created a logo I am content with. So no more logo talk :)
It's slowely comming together. |

Selling toys in the past 3 years has gotten very hard.
Amazon has free shipping with prime and often prices you can not beat. |
Just my opinion, but that pop up contact box in the lower right is a deal breaker for me. Most of the time when I hit a site that has one of those I immediately close the site or hit my back button.

I need an expert, I managed to change and remove some things in the code. but how do i remove the chat pop up? I can get rid of it but create footer errors in the process. i can only overwrite or add to the style sheet. so I'm just trying to find the html piece that runs the chat popup and remove it.

How are you sending traffic?
Are they sold to on your site, service, product or just being dumped there as traffic? This is how to sell. How do you do it? More examples. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=sex+toys You need to convince your market to buy the products you recommend from you. As someone has said, Amazon beats you on everything for those who have already decided. |

in google chrome, right mouse click on element or area on a web page and select "inspect element" from context menu. it will show you where that element hierarchically is in html and what css rules are applied.
if you don't have "inspect element" option, google: chrome dev tools. very handy |

Though, I asked if they could disable the live chat from popping up automatically, and it looks like they did. So even if it's there, its not much of an issue any more. |
Thanks for all your advice guys :) very much appreciated. |
that chat widget is inserted with this script near bottom of the source
<script type="text/javascript" src="//aruac.com/chat/php/app.php?widget-init.js"></script> it creates iframe #customer-chat-iframe see if you can add and run js script anywhere or preferably at the end below their js file. then you could try applying css display:none to #customer-chat-iframe with jquery after page loads, may need to add some delay or check if #customer-chat-iframe exists first |
or see if you can add css rule and if it will work
#customer-chat-iframe { display:none !important; } may do the trick |

#customer-chat-iframe { display:none !important; }
Worked like a charm! Thanks so much holograph :))) |

Got the hang of overwriting the css code. More than happy with the results. Only problem is... no sales no sign ups yet. I'm gonna give it another month. if nothing. i'll most likely move on to another WL.
Though I am getting ad revenue. |
